Talking RC18T Steering Servo

Hi all,

Which is the best Steering servo to use in my RC18T?

I see the list in the manual:
Hitec HS-55,56,65, and 81
Futaba S3106
Airtronics 94091

Is there any servo's that are better?

Thanks for your time,

if you have to buy a new one go with the airtronics. if you have the rtr one, there is nothing wrong with the servo it is the servo saver that sucks. get some orings that fit tightly around it and install 2 of them if this is your problem. Otherwise if you have to get a new one, get the airtronics, they make great servos.

Have you seen a upgraded servo saver?

I can not get any specs, on the XP servo.

Rides of racers: Photo 2775 has no shocks on it. I shot this photo when the driver was rebuilding his shocks. All the cars dialed !!

If you are willing to put some elbow grease and are good at modding your own parts, you can get an HS81MG to fit with an HPI Micro RS4 servo saver. For the sake of fitting all my electronics(Mamba & Spektrum) under my RC18B body, I had to change to a smaller servo. So far, over hear, guys either run the HS56HB or the HS81MG. The HS65 is a new servo coming out from Hitec and the specs look good. If you can wait, I'd get the HS65 servo instead.

I WAS JUST LOOKING AT THE 65. I think that is the one for me. But looking at the dimensions. It looks like it will fit.

The reason for the HPI micro RS4 servo server, is because the one in the kit sucks, right? I was looking at the servo server from Integy?

When I was running my 18T, I bought a BlueBird 380MAX servo...killer servo, tons of torque, and cheap...

http://www.balsapr.com/view.asp?id=V443293&pid=U389563

only downside, you need to shoe-goo it to the chassis...its a little "big" for the stock servo mount

KO Propo just came out with one as well, the 3014 digital.

"New digital and programmable micro servo for 1/18th scale and smaller vehicles. This new servo has two metal gears and two plastic gears for an increased gear tranny. ICS programming can also be set via PC interface or hand held programmer (not included). Speed: 0.11 sec @ 60deg Torque: 27.75 oz-in"

http://www.shopatron.com/product/pro....605.234.0.0.0

I just bought 4 for my micro heli. Haven't actually used them but the specs look good.

I have had a question is to what can you program into a servo? What is ICS?

Thanks,
