Which F1 for 2018?

Have to add the new Tamiya TRF103 to the list. It looks fantastic. Massive improvement.

Anyone have any feedback on the Yokomo YR-10? I’m a kyo driver but we haven’t had a car in a long time so next best think is yoke. Chassis looks much like the rest. Track is grey carpet with foams.

The car needs a lot of work to be dialed in . the front is more agressive then the other F1 on the market , so you'll have to calm it down , and this will affect the overall performance. the front ride height is limited (max 4.5mm)
Otherwise the chassis is very strong and durable, but i won't recommand it for a beginner in that category.
if i were you, i'll take a look at xray, serpent , shepherd, roche or VBC instead.

YR10F
I have always been partial to Yokomo, so I bought a YR10F when I got into F1. After struggling with it for about a year, I finally abandoned it and bought a 2018 X1 and it's incredible how much better it feels. I have no carpet experience though, only asphalt. Oh, another issue with the YR10F is that it's very hard to get it down to the 1050 weight. It's a heavy kit, even with Ti screws.

You can also consider the Serpent F110 SF3. We run it very successful at ETS.
It's lightweight, easy to build and fast.
Check the narrow chassis in combination with the "transversal style weight distribution".
Note: as designer I am biased ;-)

Yes, I can confirm the serpent is a great car on carpet. It is not straightforward to get parts though.

I nearly clicked "buy" on the Serpent F110 SF3 a little while go. I've held back because I have too many brands on the go. It's kind of stressful once you start to get more serious about racing... so many different characteristics and different parts to stock etc. I have had a grand old time in the last few years trying different brands and now I feel like I need to make a colour choice and stick to it. Arg, dull but astute.

I have a yr-10f. After 2 years of tuning and fitting Xray parts, AE parts, Tamiya parts and homemade parts the car is finally competitive. I would not recommend it to anyone.

...Still a lap down to the guys running X1 cars.
