Default 2017 IFMAR 1/10 off road worlds

Hey all: Donít see a thread for the 2017 ifmar 1/10th off road worlds so thought Iíd start one. I was wondering if thereís a way to get a list of who will be representing all the vehicle brands such as AE,TRL,Kyosho,Yokomo,PR Racing and any other brand I may have missed? Also will Tekno RC be sending a team or is their 1/10 4wd buggy to new to give them proper time to get it ready. Finally since the event will be on hard packed clay I hear that Yokomo will have a new shaft drive 4wd buggy for this event so does this mean surface type will determine if you should use shaft or belts in 1/10 4wd buggy? Long post I know but thanks for the responses...

I saw both Joe Bornhorst and Ryan Lutz post pics of their EB410's saying they were both going... though I found it odd that Ryan is going to run clay tires on carpet

I think the bigger question is when will AKA make carpet/turf tires?

Lutz and Bornhorst didn't qualify for the Worlds so they are not going. The only way we'll see a Tekno there is if another driver who is qualified for the Worlds switches to the Tekno car.

That's for Scotty Earnst's big indoor race in Vegas, not the Worlds. I think it is a spec tire race so everyone will probably be on the same tire. I'm sure Lutz just threw something on for the pics.

Thanks for clarifications... "International" was misleading me, doh!

Glad to hear it's a spec tire race too!

Perhaps the OP can update the first post with a link to info on the "Worlds" event, is that going to be this weekend too?

A quick google search found the following page but not much info after 2015, I guess it's hosted once every 2 years?

I don't think the worlds are on carpet this year.

It’s possible for them to get to the worlds if a slot were open for the us drivers. You don’t always have to qualify. But what’s the use when tekno has no 2wd.

Nice to have it back outdoors. The Astro race was pretty nice, a bit of a change. The usual group of guys will be up front. Curious about the texture, if the track will be suited for lay down trannies?
