Need help deciding on a charger
Ok, i am a nitro driver, but with an indoor track opening soon i need an electric car. That is all firgured out, but what i dont know about anymore are chargers.
The last time i drove electric was 6 years ago, and i had a tekin bc112c. but when i sold my cars, i sold my charger too. So currently what are some of the better chargers out on the market to charger nimh batteries. i plan on using 3300, and 3800 matched packs.
Li-po is not nessacary since i dont have the budget for li-po batteries.

I would look into the Duratrax Ice charger. I know you said Lipos are not in your budget but who knows they may come down in the future and if they do you have a charger already for them.
You can also pick up the Novak Millenium charges at a decent price as well.

Ice all the way. If you every go lipo in the future, then you're all set and won't have to buy twice.

I would give the integy 16x8 a look. It does everything the ICE does and more. Plus you don't have to buy a power supply for it like the ICE.

integy makes good chargers. I have the Reedy Quasar pro updated model and it looks very much like an integy charger. Doesn't need a PS either and will do 20 Amp discharges as well.
main thing is get yourself a good equalizer tray. I still use the Integy Octane 2, works well.

well its been 5 years since i bought anything electric, so i am still learning what this new stuff is. Like now, i read alot about cutting the comm on the motor, but when i raced, i never saw people doing that. Seems that alot has changed since.

I cut the com's at home generally. Or back at the hotel if it's an out of town weekend race. You can do it at the track but it just makes it something else that I have to get out.
Racing Touring Cars, I have 4 motors a weekend. I'll probably only use two of them. Get a few runs on the first one and then get the last qualifier and the main on the other one.
As for chargers, I like my Ice. It is only a 12v charger so you will need a battery or a power supply but most of the offroad tracks I go to don't have AC power so a car battery is the only way to go. Hence the 12v chargers for me are better.

ok, so i picked up a ice charger, but dont know which power supply to get for it. I was thinking a pyramid power supply, since they aren't to expensive, but i also was thinking about an lrp power supply.
What do you guys use.

I use a ripmax 20amp power supply. Had absolutley no issues with it over about 4 months of use.
