Hi guys. I'm new to this website and new to the whole electric RC world. Coming from gas RCs I need all the help I can get with this monster. I just picked my DB8 a few days ago and right way started looking for tires and some mods. I have a question for you guys. I was looking at some videos and I found out I can squeeze some more MPH on this baby if I were to the pinion. So stock is 15T I believe. So if I were to put a 20T, pinion, would that make a big difference? and of coarse I would be running a 4s Battery.

-Thanks

Well, you would go faster with the bigger pinion, yes. But keep in mind that that comes with an increase in load and thus heat on the electronics, so you need to watch your temps so you don't overheat.

Default Hyrax on the stock db8 wheels

Forced fit the 2.2 hyrax over the stock 2.2/3.0 wheels. I was shocked with the outcome.. worked very well.. it held up on two runs on 6s batteries..

Default 2.2 Hyrax on 2.2/3.0 wheels

I stretched the inner hyrax tire bead lip over the 3.0 bead lip of the wheel and carefully glued them on lol

Default Hyrax over 2.2/3.0 wheel

Side note: as u can see in the pic, the inner side of the hyrax was stretched and pushed in and past the lip bead of the 3.0 side of the wheel.
(did that make sense?) 😂
Applied glue very carefully.. 😂
These
tires make a night and day difference from the stock tires..

Lookin good. But if you used some body scissors and trimmed a little bit of rubber off the inner tire it would fit right into the molded groove on the wheel. It’ll glue up easier that way....and better contact to glue

Heres another tire option. 2.8 proline badlands stretched over 1/8 buggy wheels.

A little shorter but should work well. I havent ran it yet with the new tires.
