As much as I'd like to see a loamy track again, what is most likely to happen is that they'll find a way to make it high grip. If they don't, the drivers will scream and cry that their cars don't work on it. The modern philosophy is that you should tune the track until the car works.

Pro drivers are quite capable of tuning for any surface there given, but when you
choose a spec tire months in advance and it simply does not work there is only
so many options avalible. All this was disscussed at length after the 2013 worlds.

Yatabe ran astro because they could. Ifmar is only one voting block and the other
2 voted for an artifical surface. This aint the US Nationals it's the "Worlds" and
as much as the "Loamos" don't want to admit it most of the rest of the world is
just fine with and in many cases more comfortable with artificial sufaces.

China has said they want to do a dirt track, thats fine, pick a spec tire like a
holeshot. The real problem is weather. If it rains like normal for them that
time of year then things should be fine, the rumor is that its not uncommon for
them to have heavy rain and if that happens the only racable surface is going to be Astro.

So a question for all you Loam guys. If your building the track do you build a dirt
track with a 70% chance of being able to race on it Or do you build an Astro track
thats 100% usable in any weather. Remmember all this has to be decided months
in advance.

With chinese resources I'd just put a transparent sliding roof or tent over the dirt.

with that much space, i'd love to see a layout with wide lanes. like 10 feet wide. have several racey sections where passes can happen. with most tracks nowadays it's just wait for the guy ahead of you to make a mistake. i'd like to see some exciting racing action.

Not to complicated to put it under a roof, inside a sports complex, under a big canopy... then guess what.......
A loomy track with 0% chance rain
