Default Air holes in SCTE 3.0

Hi guys! I am just wondering, I have heard everyone mention how hard it is to cut out the air holes in the lexan bodies, would it not work to just drill holes instead? this would cut out the risk of bad corners and cut fingers, and if done right look ok too.or is it essential to cut out the exact air holes? Just a thought.
