All this is pre-release. Hopefully we will have more info soon.

All parts will be through MRC when it comes through the USA and shops like ultimatehobbies most likely will carry parts as well.

I believe the spurs will still be specific to academy, not sure. Main thing I am hoping is that they are using a bigger spur gear.

Dave Snee has one of the new 4wd buggys from Academy (sponsored direct from the factory) so i got some snaps before it turned a wheel in anger. Dave didnt have a good days racing but won his final, but its a new car so im sure its got more to come.. looks quite nice.

Having driven the SB 1 sport and pro model versus the BJ4 and XXX-4s out there, the vehicle can more than handle its own and this should really up the ante as well.

The SB parts are much more durable than what you get on the other vehicles, so finishing the race doesn't become a question mark like other vehicles at this time who have issues with breaking arms and shock towers.

The SB Pro shocks other than not being threaded are probably the smoothest shocks I have used. They go together easier than AE shocks and don't leak. They also have a squegee effect that cleans off the shaft so dirt doesn't get in.

I would say if you are interested in trying 4wd, the SB series gives you alot of bang for the buck.

I am quite happy with mine, and can't wait for the V2.

Any more news on this?
Like price, availability? It sounds like the original SB has a few weak parts (drive cups) but if they have that worked out on this version...

Default its available

Looks like it is already available and will have a street price below 200 for the non-pro version. I think it's a nice kit for the price, especially with some improvements over the original version.

Here's one available from ebay:

Is the version 2 buggy on the market yet? If so, any feedback?

MRC's web site simply refers to 'SB Pro' as the current model.

Cheers,
Scotty P.
