What upgrades are recommended for the Kyosho RB7?
What are the upgrades I should get for a Kyosho RB7? Thanks for your time guys!

Track time and experience is the best upgrade. Drive the car. Upgrades are worth the money when you either find a weak point or know you want a different “feel” that is otherwise not possible. Paying close attention to what the car is doing on any given track is where the magic happens. Setup changes and upgrades are irrelevant if they do not apply to driving style AND track conditions.

The only hop ups I thought that were almost essential was the aluminium front suspension block UMW723, and also an aluminium servo horn. I have an Exotek 25 tooth AE B6.2 one. Fits perfectly.
In time you may want to get the aluminium steering crank arms, and plate. (UMW702/UMW752 and UMW701). Other than that, it would be something like brass weights if you were tuning your car for a specific track.
Having said that, I do agree with the above post. Just build it and drive it first. Save your money and figure out what you need as you go.

All of the comments above are pretty dead on. I have an RB7 and an RB7ss. The only mods I made worth while is the Exotek battery mount, mounting the batter horizontal on the chassis, and adding weight under the battery and the rear. I race on clay. They both stick and handle quite well. The battery mount just makes it easier to remove the battery. No performance gains. I also added the Exotek motor mount for the RB7ss, but there are no benefits to it except it looks cool.

I was talking more about parts that break easily.
OffRoadJunkie... whats the difference between the RB7 and RB7ss?

The RB7 comes with a bunch of anodized aluminum drivetrain parts to cut down on rotating mass. It is designed for stock motors so it doesn't need the extra strength that a modified motor needs. It also eliminates the slipper clutch. That cut a huge amount of weight. Go to Kyosho.com and you will see the different parts. Other than that, it's the same as the RB7. I have both cars.
For durability? My son has the RB7ss and he puts his stadium truck tires on it to bash it. Never broke a single part. He's 12, so you know he's not gentle with it.

I'm not sure about the geometry changing. I do know that the Kyosho doesn't need the diff services as much as the other brands. As others will tell you, Kyosho has the longest lasting ball diff out there. Nobody will argue that. There is a company that make a. Easy access box for it.

OffRoad Junkie: Does the RB7 come with the ball diff you are speaking about? Or is it aftermarket? And can I run this motor and ESC combo or is the motor too hot for the RB7? I want the 3300kv option:

I have a 7.5t brushless in mine with a Hobbywing XR10 pro elite g2. Handles it just fine.
