New buggy looks very good. And Frank's support and enthusiasm for what he does is always outstanding!

Is the toe plate actually different or did they just package the 2 mounts separately and the new part number is for the individual piece?

This is where I am as well. I already have alum hubs, new spindles, Exotek laydown, X-Factory rear conversion not to mention lots of other alum/titanium/cf parts. For current 3.0 owners with the aforementioned changes already, theres little reason to upgrade apart from just wanting the newest car (which we all do, of course).

The 4.0 looks like a sweet package. Im glad TLR now has something to compete with AE value-wise. Its clear Frank and the team did a great job designing this one. Id love to get a 4.0, but since money doesnt grow on trees, and my 3.0 is already 90% of a 4.0, Ill likely pass.

I do like the new chassis and body though. Did Frank say if the old tranny (Exotek laydown but the tranny holes are the same as TLR laydown) would bolt straight onto the new chassis? I wonder how all the chassis holes lineup, relative to the 3.0? Id need new mud guards as well, but If I could spend $100 for the 4.0 chassis, body, & new rear camber block, and use all the other parts from my 3.0, Id be tempted

So can one of the moderators please clarify, is this the new "official" 4.0 thread or is that still to come? Frank did a great job on the 3.0 thread...

works out that way sometimes. no manufacturer can please everyone. the AEB6 announcement and followed by a really quick release was a surprize for many who did not expect the B5 to be so short lived based on AEs history when it comes to their cars. we had some racers that bought B5Ms in a month or less prior to the B6 with serious $$ in hop ups who were rather upset.

double?

B6D along with options laydown tranny kit, with stiff front gullwing and rear a-rms, front shock tower to run gullwing arms to run carpet?

B6 along with the options stand-up mid trans kits or parts along with a ball diff, with probably more to run dirt?

can't go back to a 22 4.0, has not released

Anyone have a parts list to convert the 3.0 to 4.0? (assuming this one isn't already it)

The rear toe place has a M2 hole in it so that the toe plate can mount to the 4.0 chassis. When you pull the 4.0 tranny out, the toe plate will not be secured without it. They are available separately now also.

Yes, you can run a shorty, or saddles, or brick in laydown or stand up.

It looks like it includes everything everyone needs in one box. It would be nice if they sold a spec racer type upgrade package for those running stock.
I am looking forward to running it. A total package car, with all the refinements it needs.

I'm super excited to see this new kit coming to market. TLR always does a great job of giving us the parts we want in the kits. Frank is great at doing videos and supporting the forums. This is what keeps me coming back to the TLR kits over and over.

This is NOT a 3.0 -> 4.0 conversion. I just want to get the new laydown into my 3.0LD (newer dirt laydown). I race it on carpet, so I was hoping to take advantage the setup options for carpet

Another thought I had..... Can I buy the 4.0 and build it onto my Dirt laydown chassis? minus the newer mud guards? I just finally got bodies painted for my 3.0 and don't want to have to get new ones done lol
