The only thing you require are some diff shims, ideally 0.7mm on each side. I just purchased some team associated ones.

I believe it's the gear diff that is holding up the release of the 5.0ac.
Thanks! Where do you put those diff shims? Do you have a part number?

Looking back I think I just ordered them by size from eBay. They go on the out drives before you put it through the gearbox half as the gearbox is a little wider than the diff to take up the side to side movement. You just need a size with in inside diameter that will go over the out drives. From memory they were inside diameter 10 mm x 12 mm x 0.2mm. Ideally you wanto 0.7mm both side but I already had some 0.1mm shims frof a durango kit.

Can anyone help me out...

I purchased Tekins 180 lopro servo and was told to use a TLR 25t aluminum servo horn, found one on Amazon and it doesn't fit. Obviously the Tekin servo horn fits their servo so I'm thinking of just running that, only question is will it fit in the car? It's straight, with no bend like TLRs horn and is one hole longer so my initial thought is no, but can anyone verify?

Try it but you might struggle as the tlr needs to go on the servo side of the horn rather than the front

Thanks! I guess I should've prefaced that the car isn't together yet, and this is the first build I've done in years so it's a slow go. That picture helps out a lot though, thanks. I'm wondering if I would be able to flip the ball stud and make it work. The two servo horns seem to match up in that regard. I guess I'll try and see and report back what I find, unless someone who's already done this chimes in!

Hello,
I have the spec racer version of this kit. I built it exactly to the instructions and am experienced. For some reason the cvd just barely sits in the diff, and falls out almost immediately when I try to run. All the turnbuckles are exactly to the manual specs. Any idea what might be causing this?

Check that you haven't got the diff on the raised position with the inserts - i believe you only get the standard hubs with the SR so have to have the diff in the low position.

Hi guys, I am building a 22 4.0 sr with a fantom rs. Could you recommend pinion size for a small to medium size indoor track. Thanks!

I heard the losi 22 5.0 came out but I want to get the 4.0 because of the enclosed drive gears. Is it too late to get the 4.0? I don't want to buy the car knowing it will be discontinued in less than three years.

Why not just get the 5.0 and get the stand up parts? I'm sure you can find someone with a 4.0 kit they will sell you the stand up parts for cheap

That's a good idea. Right now the deciding factor is price. I found a interesting deal on tower hobbies. They have the 22 4.0 for $199 while the 5.0 $319 both new. Should I stick with the 4.0?
