What 4x4 sct should I get?
Hey everyone, I'm wondering what I should get for a 4x4 sct. I'm looking for something preferably $200 or under but am will in to go up to something like $400. I originally had a 2wd slash but the buggies at my local track looked fun so I got a 22-4 but now I'm looking to get another sct more for racing.

Recommend going to your local track and seeing what the racers are using. Ask if they will let you drive their vehicles or aks what they like most about their choice. Best to have setup assistance and parts support when at the track.

I would actually suggest 2wd sct. Makes everything cheaper, easier to work on and really helps build your skills as a driver. And it's still just as, if not more, durable than a 4x4 sct.

The two options right now I would consider would either be the latest Tekno SCT410.3 or the Losi SCTE (3.0 I think?) .
Both vehicles offer a lot of performance. Main thing I would look into are the issues each has versus the benefits and decide from there. Outside of that, if there wasn't an issue with the company the Team Durango DESC10 could be a very strong contender as well. Heck of a vehicle let down by the company who makes it. |
The suggestions so far are all very good rigs, but way over the $400 if you cant find them used. When it comes to new, I really like my ProSC 4x4. Great starter rig you can get from tower hobbies for like $300 with a coupon. Its like 340$ to get it with a entry level lipo and charger.
I also got the Troy Lee designs Losi SCTE 2.0 off a FB page for like $420. No batt or charger though. Edit: Oh sorry, didnt realize you mentioned you had electronics already :( BTW what you planning to put in it? |
Kyosho Inferno Worlds GT Spec C Makinnen Edition.
It's the best. |
SCTE 3.0

I have experience with a few of the mentioned trucks and knowledge of the others do to close racing with people I know. Stay away from the losi 2.0. That truck will make you want to bash your head against the wall. The durango is to fragile. The tekno is superior to everything right now. Just set it side by side with the others and its easy to see why.

I give another vote for the Tekno SCT410.

Me too, another vote for the Tekno SCT 410.3. But I have to admit the the Losi 3.0 is pretty darn close, you really can't go wrong with either of those rigs.
