Default Racing with a Castle sensored 4 pole ?

Anyone have experience with these yet ? In 4wd buggy or 2wd sc maybe ? Seems like it would be a nice set up in a 4wd buggy with the extra torque . Links to any reviews or dyno tests ?

I have a 4600 sensored in my B6d that I run on clay indoor track. Motor runs awesome. I would say its about a 6.5 against standard motors. Power is smooth and the motor is very efficient. I geared it down 2 teeth from where I run my 8.5.

What ESC are you powering it with?

I was going to post a quote from our facebook comments, but I think it was from wyd.

Here is a post about our 1/8th scale motors from one of our team drivers:
https://www.facebook.com/kevin.mccoy...99872150059432

I havn't seen any independent dyno tests, but they should produce more torque and run cooler than 2 pole motors. We published these comparisons:
http://support.castlecreations.com/1...titive-testing
http://support.castlecreations.com/c...nt-turn-counts

Only thing I would warn about running one of our motors is if you have a ball diff, make sure to check it regularly. We fried a pair of ball diffs in a very short amount of time because they were set a bit too loose.

Any feedback on the feel of these motors? How do they compare to a general 2pole motor?

I'd be interested in feedback running these new 1410's in a 4x4 sct or an e-buggy lite and if it can handle the extra weight. The price is good and I've never had a castle motor die on me. But never had a sensored motor from them.

I was actually looking at the Castle line yesterday when researching a motor system for an upcoming DESC10 setup. The issue I had was that there was nothing in between the Mamba Max Pro SCT combo with the 2400 KV motor and the larger low KV 8th scale gear. Basically a motor designed for 2s in a standard 550 size, 4000kv+

A low KV motor on 2s is useless to me and the smaller motors in the higher KV ranges are not designed for a heavy truck like the DESC10, which can easily weigh more than 6.5 pounds. I was initially interested in a 4 pole design due to its efficiency and the DESC10's issues making 10 minute mains on 2s.

Maybe Mr. Castle can chime in here?

I agree, that is a gap in our lineup. I've been asking that for years, but running such a heavy truck on 2s seems to scare them. Every time I bring it up they ask why people don't just run a higher voltage. I'll keep pushing for it and see if we can get something that works for that class.

I have three of the sidewinder 3 system all of them are the 4600kv.
Its enough for offroad racing as ive tried it but on oval guys are running the 5700kv.
I'm running the 4600kv against 5700kvs. I'm getting smoked but not too bad.
I got 34 laps with my castle powered B6D latemodel project and that's exactly what I'm getting with my stock Titan slash also.
In slash class thiers a lot of wrecks and I have to dodge the wrecks....lol So that might be hurting my laps slightly.

That's just silly. There are tons of tracks all over the US that limit you to 2s no matter what the car. The 3800/4600kv sensored motor with a good ESC behind it is an extremely common setup in 1/10th 4x4. SCT, Rally, buggy, sedan etc. Onroad and offroad.

Castles only cog at low speeds you cant use them in a trail truck or rock crawler.
Mine have never cogged during a race.

Let the boys upstairs know , if they built a 4300kv version of that 1415 motor with a sensor and solder tabs they wouldn't be able to build them fast enough. I would buy the first one .

I agree but if castle is going to get into the sensored motor market they need to sell a good ESC packaged with the 3800/4000/4300/4600/5300 sensored motor or they will have a tough time.
