Default Team Durango 2017

Hey all: with Travis Amazcua having left the team and from what I've heard resently they're doing away with their 1/8th scale Program what's the future for Durango in 2017 and beyond? Thanks 🤔

They may still sell 1/10 scale race platforms, but I don't see that lasting long. Just one more casualty of Hobbico.

This was predicted by many the minute it was announced Hobbico had taken over TD and it's an absolute shame, they should've never dropped the team and tried to pickup some good drivers and things would've been completely different but I'm thinking they had this planned from the get go as they obviously wanted to kill off the competition side of things "serious about racing" (yeah right) and concentrate all their efforts in the rtr scene with arrma.

I think Durango is going to be gone from racing altogether this year. It's a shame, too, as when I ran for them I had great results with their vehicles and they held up well, despite many reports to the contrary. I loved my DEX210V3 and my DNX8, but when I was about to miss the beginning of indoor season because I couldn't get a body for my DEX210V3, it made my decision to switch brands for me.

I thought I'd dig this up. If you are a Team Driver for Team Durango, what are they telling you to do for things like 210V3 bodies and other replacement parts? Part of being signed is to always present a clean and new looking car. Can't do that with last year's race body. Just wondering if you drivers are having the same issues or if you guys have like a secret team stash of stuff to draw from.

Do you get them directly from TD, or Hobbico, or some where els?

The problem isn't Durango. The problem is with the parent company, Hobbico. They are broke. Check this out.

I've wondered the same thing. The TD drivers on FB don't seem to have the same issues that us non sponsored folks do.

Yikes!… that's alarming.

Been on the fence as to what kit I will be buying in the near future when my son and I resume racing once again and the v5 was one of the top 3 cars I was considering.

It's now down to 2 cars.

shame. The dex410v5 is a good car and the dex210F is as well. Has some issues like the wing mounts needing to be beefier but all in all, I like the platforms.

As for 2017 for what we will see from durango, to be honest I am not sure anything. 1/8 scale and its variants (DESC10) look to be done I guess. A shame as there was some good potential there with the DESC10 being one heck of a truck, especially on track conditions where you needed a more planted rear end but still wanted lots of Tekno style steering.

With the main website not being updated since August, that makes me wonder if there is a bigger global thing going on with them.

Real shame.

For realz.

The best, most precisely engineered car I have owned to date has been the DEX410. Sadly I think it's time to put it on the auction block as parts will likely become impossible to find in the very near future.
