So this looks to be an older thread but I am in the process of building a T6 right now.. I have an extra B6d and a T5 that I am going to combine. I just ordered these towers from Visionracing.net to complete the cross build

Just waiting for the to arrive and I will start the build.

I purchased the visionracing.net T6 shock towers and all the items they list, to take a b6d and T5M and come out with a T6. What I found was that my T5M with a shapeways laydown transmission was about the same weight. It was stronger, and a little longer. The T6 was just not setup well. I could have played with it, but why. The T5M and SC5M with the shapeways Laydown transmissions, are great vehicles. At least in my opinion for indoor clay.

I can not do links yet. But go to website for visionracing.net, hit T6 on the right. It has a list of items. In short: The new rear shock tower mounts to a b6 transmission. You have to drill 2 holes if using a SC5M or T5M chassis, along with a little sanding on the b6 transmission housing. If using a b6 chassis, you basically use the T6 shock towers, and t5m swingarms/hubs to make a t6. They have videos on the website.

sounds good. yeah rather go with a T5M base in that case .

Hopefully AE will give this a look see. Maybe going to straight up 13.5 will be the kicker to get these growing again.

Since I don't run on Clay I won't debate the performance of a t5m with laydown vs t6 conversion. However in high bite carpet the benefits of running front and rear sway bars (with some minor modification), the ability to run the shocks on the front of the rear tower and the improved steering from the B6 front end made a huge difference. The amount of steering the T6 has and not traction rolling is insane! I can see how this may not be a good thing on lower grip surfaces.
