Welcome to the EB4.4 Wiki page.
If you edit the page, please add your name and date prior to your addition. While an admin can view the history, this makes it easier for everyone to just check updates. We'll put the newest additions at the top.

Bob B 8/10/17 - Should I start with the kit setup?
The kit setup is a great place to start. One other option that many of us start with is Joe's rough track setup. You can find that setup here
In order to run it you need 3x2.1 pistons and 3x2.0 pistons. (They are marked on the sheet as 3.1 and 3.0).

Matt W 7/7/17 - What is overdrive and when should I use it?
The NB48.4 comes stock with a 12t pinion (TKR8152) and the 39t ring (TKR8151) in both the front and rear and the EB48.4 has a 12t pinion (TKR8152B) and the 40t ring (TKR8151B) in both the front and rear.

The two sets of gears are used to overdrive the front of the EBs or underdrive the rear of the NBs. If you have both vehicles and want to try underdrive it's as easy as swapping the front diff and pinion of the EB and the rear diff and pinion of the NB. Underdrive helps on very loose tracks, when you need more on power steering or if the rear of the car feels loose.

Tips and Tricks
Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Warranty Policy:

Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:

Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

3x2.1's
https://fiercercsolutions.com/TKR616...cs-TKR6162.htm

then probably drilled these out to 2.0's

I swear 2.0's were available before, but I can't find them.

I emailed Tekno awhile back and this was the answer. “He is running the flat piston TKR6163 drilled out to his spec”

Thank you very much gentlemen, but once again, both differing answers. ezlight listed the tapered pistons and Mikeand22 says flat lol. Oh well, I'll try flat and see how it goes!

Get the tekno!! Can’t give you a valid reason as to what makes it better than sworks, but you will be very pleased. My son has had the same plastic spur gear since December 2016,just replaced the chassis to freshen it up. No slop anywhere. Barely any wear on the outdrives which is unbelievable... setup works at a variety of different tracks

I’m looking to take some anti squat out of my buggy but have a question as to the best way. I can either go up a dot on the pills in the D block or I can down a dot on the C block. Will there be a difference doing it one way vs the other?

Going down on the C will slightly lower the roll center and going up on the D will raise it. If you were going to take out 1 degree of anti-squat you could also go down on the C half a degree and up on the D half a degree and your roll center won't change.

I run center dot on C block and double dot up and inner on D block (1.5° antisquat and -2.5° toe in). Yes, it raises the rear roll center.

it's my basic's setup.

Again Mick W?

Either get the car to try, or don't. You've been in an eternal debate with yourself since the .3 car. Just get a Tekno, and find out for yourself.

Default Ebuggy familiarity

After getting comfortable with my .3 I decided to upgrade to a .4 and what not but I can not get it to handle how my .3 did. My rear end gets loose when I exit a corner under power where where my .3 was basically glued to the ground.

Can any body point me in the direction of a good set up for an outdoor medium/hard pack track with loose spots/few small ruts medium to large jumps.

But go up 1 hole on the rear tower.

Your welcome.

Did you try it out yet? Your track description sounds JUST like ours.

I'm debating whether to get a good used .3 for cheap, or the .4 for "better handling".

Never driven the .3, but my buddy's .4 felt awesome.

Hope it works for for you.
