B74 mean entierly new platform
I'm a little surprise as B64 is a good platform
I was more thinking about a .1 version

It's on the way. Just might still be 2 months until we can actually get our hands on it.
Somebody jumped the gun, for sure. Things can change between now and then. Currency shifts can change pricing, so they'll want to wait until just before release to lock that in.

I agree with 5tone, the B64 is pretty good. It's pretty remarkable that they're scrapping it after only 2 years. That's only recently been happening in 2wd buggy platforms, which I would imagine outsell 4wd cars 4 or 5 to one. I'm interested to see what they've come up with.

Maybe with the eb410 Buggy, having 95% with the new et410 Truggy, may be Associated decided to re-tool the new b64, with an upgrade path to a Truggy? Even better, 2 in one Kit? Or upgrade Kit? I do love my b6.1/t6.1/sc6.1 share so many parts. It would be cool if a b74/t74/sct74 where setup this way? But it would be so easy to do.

It's likely the redesign is more for the carpet scene. The pros running carpet have been doing all kinds of stuff like running b6 arms and flipping the rear tower and using the b block as a c block to name a few in order to get the car to work how they want it to.

Could be, but the "d" car was discontinued long before the carpet version. We'll see...

Heard a rumor regarding that. AE made a certain amount of b64 and b64d kits and the b64d happened to sell out first, assuming the market for a dirt buggy is larger. All speculation though, who really knows? With the changes made from the b6 to b6.1, this one should be good.

The B64 was released before AE had their big supplier switchover with the B6.1. I'm willing to bet they didn't want to run a new batch just to restock the B64D. Especially since they had so many carpet kits still in stock and they'd have to deal with the B64 kits from one supplier and fresh B64D kits from another. Better they just they let the B64D stock run out rather than have to retool the line for the 74 6 months later.

If this is the case, I wonder if we might expect spares availability for the B64 platform to die off sooner than is typically the case for other platforms?

That's a good question. I'm not aware if they have done any runs of A-arms or other basic wear parts with their new supplier. They could have a massive stockpile and it won't be a problem at all for years or maybe they will just run a few batches of specific parts that run out more quickly. My gut says it will be like the B5 which was a short lived chassis, but still relatively easy to find parts for 4 years later with only a few select parts where eBay is the best source.

I think they went with the B74 name because the chassis layout, bulkheads, hinge pin mounts, and other chassis mounted parts are different enough to make the jump. Getting the weight further forward so that fewer weights are needed for carpet/turf will probably be the largest change. I bet the suspension and overall drive-line is mostly identical and can be massaged to work on a B64, should parts become scarce.

where is everyone getting this info that there is a b74 coming? heck they were talking about a b64.1 for 6 months that nothing ever came of. Just wondering where all this info is coming from, i have not saw a thing on it anywhere.

Team Associated RC10B64 Thread

A European distributor accidentally made a page visible exposing the MSRP, part number, release date, and RC10B74 name. It has since been scrubbed.
