I’m about to get my hands on a 3.0. I can’t seem to find any of the common parts that were used to upgrade for loose outdoor tracks. Mainly a brass c-block and 4-gear transmission. Are there alternative part numbers out there that will work?

RCLYFE is back! I picked up a 22SCT 3.0 on sales months ago to race against my son's race Slash (Xtreme LCG + Protek Arms). At the time I was admiring Ryan Harris' 22SCT 3.0 and put myself on the notification list for the RCLYFE lower rider conversion kit. I was impatient and built up the kit last week with the normal 4.0 laydown conversion.

The RCLYFE kit has the option of running the TEN-SCTE rear body post or the Exotek aluminum posts. I already have the Exotek post because of the 4.0 laydown conversion. Question: Which body post are the better option? Exotek or TEN-SCTE? Does the Exotek aluminum potentially create durability issues with the carbon shock tower? (I have read aluminum wing mounts on the 22X-4 damaged the transmission case.) Jconcepts had a blog post about too much flex in the body mounts in SCTs creates handling issues. Snake oil?

I'm just getting back into RCs after 30 years.

Default TLR 22sct 3.0 carpet setup

Hello to you all!,

Getting back into racing after almost 10 years. I used to run SCTE w/ MIP, 8ight Te, and 8ight Be. The track closest to me runs 1/10 2wd, is indoor, and carpet. They have a SCT modified class so I'm going to jump into that. From my understanding, if I'm going to run a 22sct 3.0 on carpet the best go to config would be a RCLYFE lowrider with a lay down transmission. Would this be the right direction to go? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your time,

Smitty

Does the 22X-4 VHA rear hub and axle require spacers like the 22 5.0 did?
What is the correct part for the 22T rear hex?
Does the track width stay the same?

Here are the parts that I believe would be needed for 22X-4 VHA rear hub
  • TLR232108 - Team Losi Racing 22X-4 Rear CVA Axle (2)
  • TLR6031 - Team Losi Racing 4.8x8mm Titanium Ball Stud Set (2)
  • TLR334074 - Team Losi Racing 22 5.0 VHA Camber Link Mount (Black)
  • TLR334076 - Team Losi Racing 22 5.0 VHA Hinge Pin Insert Set (6)
  • TLR334078 - Team Losi Racing 22X-4 Aluminum VHA Hub Set
  • 5X13MM Ball Bearing - 695 Ball Bearing
  • 10X15MM Ball Bearing - 6700 Ball Bearing
  • TLR2933 - Team Losi Racing Aluminum Rear Hex Set (Standard Width) [Is this the 22T 10mm hex?]

If you want to run a lot of plunge you will need the SCT 2.0 94mm axles to go with the 22x-4 Stubs

Thank you thedak
I decided to go the 22 5.0 VHA hubs instead of the 22x-4. The 22S axles appear to be a direct fit for the 22 5.0 VHA hubs. It's also one less bearing that needs to be changed and keeps the normal hexs.

Finished my 22 SCT 3.0 with RC Lyfe low rider conversion and 5.0 rear end. I didn’t move the battery forward yet, waiting for spring to try out on the turf track first. Too new to share photos
  • 5.0 C/D Blocks
  • 5.0 Camber Block
  • 5.0 VHA hubs
  • 22x-4 5.0 Aluminum Hex
  • 22S SCT Axle
  • G3 Shocks all the way around

been noticing that the 3.0 has been discontinued...just grabbed one for 240 before they went out of stock. but now im curious if a 4.0 is in the plans or if TLR has given up with the SCT platform.

Thoughts?

I gave up on TLR, and jumped over to Associated. I'm just a local club driver. I don't get a new car when the latest is released. I got tired of not being able to get parts for my discontinued car. Associated always seems to have parts available.

i used to run AE products but i find the fit and finish of TLR to be far superior. But...the most recent thing on their site is from 2018, their tech line is down. Parts seem to be a pickle . When i got back in the sport i cracked off like 2500 on new everything and now im second guessing my choice haha

just wish we would get some news from TLR on whats cooking!
