Doesn't appear to be that those would work. So far, looks like the best choice is using 22X-4 sway bars with an adaptor plate to the rear camber link block mount.

I run shocks on the front of the arms and I use the SCT front shocks on all 4 corners of the truck.

In case you're still watching this thread BGK...I did the laydown on my 3.0 this season. I had one a couple years ago with the Exotek laydown and for some reason I like the TLR parts more...maybe b/c of the diff height adjustment...maybe because I'm a purist. lol

- RCLyfe battery cradle ONLY (no towers)
- Battery is as far back as I can get it with the ESC/Rx in front of the transmission
- Rear shocks are from the 22T 4.0 as well, and are mounted on the front of the rear arms
- Brass C-block
- +3.5 rear hubs (super important for low ride heights)
- Gear diff (mandatory)
- Pink front sway / no rear
- Lt blue front springs / Yellow rear
- 45wt oil front / 35wt oil rear
- JC swaggers & pin downs
- Target ride height ~18mm
- Target camber (fr/rr) 1.5 deg

I've only had it out for a couple weeks, so it's been interesting tuning a truck with the battery so far forward (thus the super heavy front springs).
Also note: while some people will tape their front sidewalls to make the truck more forgiving, I did all my tuning WITHOUT any tape.

Brief update for those that may be interested: the truck is undergoing an update to revert to a more "standard" battery position. It'll run transverse to the chassis (like the SC6.2) and should have a 1/4" of fore-aft adjustment once the mud-guards (side-rails) are trimmed accordingly.

As warmer weather came (and grip came up on the track), I found that the RCLyfe battery positioning limited my ability to tune the truck - which explains why none of the major OEMs run their batteries that far forward. I *probably* could have adjusted the battery as far 'back' as the RCL cradle would allow, but unfortunately I wasn't able to fit my ESC and Rx between the servo and battery that way.

Now that the battery is in a more traditional position, I've gone back to the original front/rear springs (black/pink) and will probably go 1 step softer on the front sway bar (yellow).

Will see what happens. Anyone interested in details just ask!

Are you running the low rider conversion as well? I could see the battery conversion being really useful for the drag racers as well.

I wasn't able to try the low-rider shock towers on account of RCLyfe being in the middle of a physical shop-move and parts aren't available. However, converting to the 22T 4.0 rear-end DOES mean using a shorter rear shock (same as the stadium truck) so that is still part of my current setup.

I plan to hit the track tomorrow with the truck to see how the 'traditional' battery location feels. I plan to run it as far forward as possible (1/4" away from the waterfall), so I just have a baseline setup in the truck for now.

It's fun working on chassis setup.

Fluid wise, I'd start with 10k in the gear diff, and see how I'd feels. The AE sc6.2 doesn't have a carpet setup either.

as rcdad42 said, i would start with 10k diff fluid and the middle range on sway bars. Drive it and see what it needs. Many people have found the 22t 4.0 rear shock tower and shorter rear shocks along with the laydown transmission to be a big benefit on high traction

Thanks for the recommendations, I need to find a gear diff. Is there a different one that I can use? Seems like they are out of stock or discontinued. I found a set of front sway bars, still looking for a rear set if needed? Also need to figure out what the "laydown" is and what parts needed. Thanks for all the help

Asphalt -

If you're running on carpet with the 3.0 box-stock - you're definitely going to be at a disadvantage against the SC6.1 / 6.2. Assuming you're already a decent driver and tuner that is. You can do the entire 4.0 rear end on the truck to create a 22 SCT "4.0" - but it's expensive. I've run that gear diff in the past, and it doesn't hold up well long-term with a hot motor (10.5 / 9.5).

I'll shoot you a PM, but I'd recommend stepping up to the SC6.2 if you want to compete.

If you want to have fun: just enjoy the 3.0 as is - you can always move the shocks to the front of the rear arms to get a little more forward bite too.

I'm assembling my 3.0 sct, and would like to know which rear shocks I should be running? Also, which transmission? I'm racing on a large hard packed clay track running slicks, thanks for any help on this, Dave.
