I have a stock 3.0, racing oval with it, I have been reading and reading on the thing, looking for solutions to all the front end slop. Front toe and camber are super important to us, and getting it to hold a solid number is hard with all the slop, even after just 2 race days. I saw someone mention associated ball cups, im assuming you have to swap the balls out too or will the ball cups from the SC5M work with no issues? The losi ones are junk.

sure it's possible, but it's going to cost quite a bit. I spent around $200 to do it but wound up converting back because I got a good deal on another stadium truck. I still have all the parts for the 3.0 stadium truck conversion if you're interested, a 4.0 conversion would cost even more since the transmission, rear tower, rear arms and shocks changed. Chassis, side rails, shock shafts, front tower & body mount, front & rear axles, body, turnbuckles & hexes.

Yeah I was about to say that I thought the SCT chassis is longer than the ST chassis is.

Which spare parts should I carry with me when racing indoor? Any especially weak or fragile components?

I've only broken knuckles and hubs so far. I'd upgrade the front axle trailing inserts to aluminum since they break pretty easily, and you only need to do the outer ones.

Thanks. Could you please explain knuckles and trailing inserts for me?

the trailing inserts are the pill shaped pieces that the spindle bearings go into. The outer inserts break pretty easily if you slam the front wheel into something, the inner insert hardly takes any stress, which is why only the outer needs the upgrade. Depending how your truck is set up, you will have the centered or offset insert, pictured on mine is the offset one.

I was kinda waiting around for the 4.0 and just about let the shop owner sell me a ae 6.1 he had on the wall, however I really like my 4.0sr so against his suggestion I had him order me a 3.0..
I know it doesn't make a difference on the track but my 4.0sr was a breaze to build (I've only built 1 other kit and that's been almost a decade ago) and although each bag didn't match the manual exactly it was very organized. I watched 2 guys put their 6.1 buggies together and the way the kits were boxed it was far less organized. Like I said, makes no difference on the track but I like attention to detail.

I race on a high bite technical indoor clay track. I am going to run a 13.5 and would appreciate gearing and setup advice.

Anyone heard of any possibility of a 22 SCT 4.0 in the future? Getting back into it with the kids and have considered updating my 2.0 (which I love) with the 3.0. Just trying to figure out if I want to make the investment on building a new truck or just wait. Anyone have any experience with the 2.0 and then upgrading to the 3.0? Pro’s/Con’s of the 3.0 over the 2.0....feedback is greatly appreciated! My 2.0 is heavily upgraded to run 17.5 (3 gear).

This might just be what your looking for. I am currently running the truck in MOD class but from time to time to a 13.5 in there for the hell of it.

I'll see how it feels thanks. Haven't ran carpet offroad since I had my jrx2.

If you add a dramatic pause in that statement you made it could go the other way.

No (insert dramatic pauses here) 4.0 coming soon!
