TLR 22 SCT 3.0
#706

thanks for the heads up guys. might have to pop it on the 3.0 than.
anything I need to get to run 17.5 on carpet looking for the lightweight go fast goodies to give a couple guys at hard time that always have the bling so I want to over bling them just to mess with them. I'll still out drive them but they said that the Losi are slow. AE guys don't cha know.... Trophies are for Losi!
prefer to stay with Losi upgrades but will pickup what makes it look fast.

I assume that you haven't worked on a TLR gear diff. The diff outdrives on TLR cars really need red loctite, as they loosen pretty easily. After cleaning both setscrew and outdrive threads, make sure that both parts are thoroughly dry. Then, put a small drop of red loctite directly on the outdrive threads, in addition to the setscrew threads.
Frank Root did a video on building TLR gear diffs, worth taking a look.

I use blue on all my 1/10 and 1/8 tlr cars and works fine, hope you find a fix. I love the gear diff, no more problems trying to adjust it. I run a outdoor track, been winning all the races but lost one cause the cup popped off. I fixed that problem, but unfortunately I will have to sell this car. Turn out is getting worse, this past Sat no one showed up . Are you guys experiencing this. The biggest class here is 1/8 elec/nitro buggies. I love the smoothness of 2wd sct but what's the point of it if the turnout gets worse.

Not true. I have had great luck using some Dynamite motor stray (https://www.horizonhobby.com/product...-13-oz-dyn5500) to clean off the parts and a dab of TLR blue locktite Team Losi Racing on the set screw and parts hold together fine.

Three race days and no problems here with the blue loctite de-greasing was the fix. Sooo what's the ballcup fix?

I was about to sell my car cause 2wd off road is dead over here in San Antonio. But I saw a post from another rc shop and they do 2wd drag racing similar to the street outlaws format. Max is 3800 kv, 2s 75cc .....does anyone know if this 3.0 will do good out there. He said most cars just use a slash on a lcg chassis . I was thinking using a gear diff, sway bars, some type of high grip setup, and thicker shock fluid. Have any of you used this car in drag racing.

I started with the Dakotah Phend desert classic from March 2018. His setup uses a bunch of 4.0 stuff though, cost is around $150 to convert it, allows you to move shocks forward and have a laydown trans. Added a couple extra spacers inside the shocks and stiffened up the springs as well.

EDIT: I went through and made some of the changes to my sheet and hopefully attached it here.

Anyone hear any rumours about a 4.0 22SCT?
Just sold my 1.0 to upgrade to a 3.0, but if a 4.0 is coming soon, I'll wait...

I talked to a team driver in sept. He said that the 2wd sct didnt sell very good.So as of sept he hasnt heard of a new 4.0 yet. We will see you never know.

I just finished installing the Exotek tranny case and body mount set. With minimal tuning so far this truck is holding impressive lines on our track. The 3.0 is still a viable platform for racing. This kit has amazing durability, after a year and a half I just replaced one of my rear arms. The only reason why I did was the truck started pulling to the right under hard acceleration.
