Better Factory electric engine
Guys, what do you think is a better engine coming directly from the builder the Stinger 20 from traxxas or the one in the RC10t4 from Assoicated ?
Also what would be another alternative or backup engine to replace it with that would not require you to upgrade any other parts like the factory esc? Or would you want to upgrade it? Thanks.

The one in the T4, just because it has it has replaceable brushes and comm, unlike the stinger which is just a closed endbell cheap-o motor.
The best motor to go for (and still retain the stock ESC) would be the Trinity P2K2 Pro, or if you want a modified motor, try a Peak Jaguar 15 turn. These are relatively inexpensive.

I would say the Traxxas Stinger. The AE 15t only lasts around 8 runs just like any other RTR motor. There is no point in replacing brushes etc. The Stinger will last a lot longer and you can take out the 20t armature to make a 'Frankenstinger' for extreme torque. This refers to putting the 20t armature inside a modified can.

my vote is with the stinger. From my memory, the AE unit doesn't allow you to open the motor up and skim the comm with a standard lathe so changing the brushes is useless.
The stinger does work well for quite some time and puts out good power. Heck, you could almost do a stinger spec class LOL.
I would say a good replacement motor would be any of the 19T ones currently out. The Team orion element both standard and V2 style are good, with the standard having alot more torque.
I also like the Reedy Quad Mag but you have to service this one more. Great motor too.
