Default What tire is good to start with?

I have a X1CR but don't know what tires to run with? If I want to race what kind of tires would be good to start with?

I'm looking at the HN BT117, are they good?

Thanks alot!

Tony is absolutely right,

Go with M2 Crimefighters or Panther medium soft or soft Komodo 2's. Then watch what the fast guys are running on each track and you will get an idea of what tires to bring next time you race there.

It's really track dependent...some of the guys are trying to new Proline Step-up M2 compound tires lately. Like other have said, check out what the local fast guys are running and start from there

Just a little extra info.

The crimefighers M2 is great but if you add the panther green molded foam. It adds a better feel. Plus I think they last longer then the foams that come with the tires.
Oh and the same for the Komotos as well

Proline crimefighters now come with proline's own molded foam. Panther's is slightly bigger and firmer than the Proline.
