MF2 Setup Advice
I am using the Drake setup as recommended by some people here on RCTech and now I am looking for a way to keep the rear end under me. Coming out of the corners under power the rear end wants to slid out from under me. I had to baby the throttle too much out of middle and exiting the turns. Any suggestions on what to change? The only difference I had was using a #54 piston in the rear, all the rest is Drake.
I was thinking about changing from 35wt oil in the rear to 27.5 to correct the problem...what do you think about that?

Hey,
I would personally run a different setup on that car. I posted a rather long post here on this link. I'm the first response in this thread and I wrote down a setup at the end of the post. Personally, this is the best setup I've come accross for the MF line of cars. It's VERY planted all around yet the car stays suprisingly nimble/quick in feel. Maybe you give it a try.
But, if you like your current setup, but just want to make minor changes to it, I'd say, go up to a 55 piston in the rear with 27.5 or 30 wt oil. Then drop down to a yellow spring. After that, move the lower rear shock mount location out one hole at a time. The more angle in a shock the more sideways traction you will have. After that, use less antisquat....
Another thing to be aware of is...Tires are like 80+ percent of your setup. Be SURE that you're using the right tire compound and foam on all 4 corners!
Only make setup changes one at a time as this will help you to pinpoint what each thing is doing for you. But, I really think you'll enjoy the setup on this link. Either way, let any of us know how things progress!
