Do you mean to tell me that the scourge of the Short Bus Truck is beginning to wane?

honestly i don't mind SCT vehicles when wheeled correctly. But something is to be said for drivers not being able to use another racer in a turn to make the turn.

one SCT that I still love is actually the 1/14 scale sized ones like what LC Racing offers.

Anyway, I am toying with doing a stadium truck here for "truck" night.

ST completely died here in South Florida. The only time you see a ST here is at a national JConcepts race. For local club racing, it's dead.

I take all 3 to the track and hope to race all 3 class's. 2wd buggy, 2wd SC, and my favorite 2wd ST.

Quoted for Truth.

I just started racing, so I'm in the Novice class with a 2wd 17.5 buggy (being the clueless noob I am) and everyone else runs a SCT. Needless to say, it isn't going too well for me. Those guys see me as nothing more than a mobile ramp to jump, land on, or otherwise run over at will.

Anyway, our local outdoor dirt track has a lot of SCTs (2wd and 4wd), but we also have have a good enough ST turnout to field a full class.

Me thinks if AE releases T6 soon to compete with 22T 4.0 class will be alive and well everywhere again.

I think I bought the last 22T 3.0 available. Building it now. Working on my 4.0 upgrade list.

Love st always will. I race 17.5 buggy cause it's the biggest. I race st even if they throw me in with another heat if there is not enough for it to make. I Just enjoy driving it. Fun

tracks have changed that gave ST and SC easier driving, new high traction carpets/smooth dirts, favor buggies. those surfaces make the trucks a handful to drive, especially carpets

I love stadium truck. I used to race the nitro ones. I thought about buying a new one and driving it during practice and maybe getting some interest up. I have 2WD and 4WD SC trucks and I never run them. It's a bunch of kids and turns into a bash fest. I also hate the sound they make when they land. It just sounds junky. I like buggies because they take skill to drive and they are smooth when driven correctly. Stadium truck is the same. Just easier.

It's kind of hit or miss in my area. At the Lutz race, there was only one ST and they let him run in 2wd Mod SCT. I went to a race in PA Saturday and they had 7 ST entries vs. 9 17.5 SCT and 15 Mod SCT. It appears to be making a slow steady comeback in general

I agree with you. I always remembered stadium trucks as being easier to drive than 2wd buggies pre sugared track and carpet days. I think it was a combination of the high traction and the move to mid motors era where the switch happened.

To me the AE T4.2 was the last stadium truck I remember owning where I had the feeling that it was easier to drive than the 2wd buggies at that time.

I converted that truck to a CT4.2, but compared to the B5M I was running at the same time it just seemed like it was less nimble while the Buggy was equally easy to drive.

After the CT4.2 I went to a 22T 3.0 that was a dream to drive but the 22 3.0 Buggy was just as easy to drive, but again the Buggy was also faster.

To me having a stadium truck is just to be able to run a separate class, new people getting into the sport are more well off to start with a 2wd Buggy. When I got into it I went stadium truck right away because my friends said it would be easier to learn with, not so much the case now.
