Default Axial Yeti 1/10th - Good, bad, Indifferent?

I have someone offering me an axial Yeti for my 12 gauge shotgun.

I don't know all the details yet but he says he has over $600 in it with upgrades but he has no batteries to test it with.

I'm considering buying a battery to go test it out.

I'm just wondering what to look for when checking out a used Axial Yeti and what would be a good battery to buy for it?

A Yeti is OK if all you do is slow crawling with it...and who can only do that? If you do any high speed bashing, you'll be buying parts for it.

The past tells me that I'll be buying parts for any R/C.

How does the Yeti rate compared to others?

I'm wondering what upgrades are essential so I can see if they have already been done to this one.

In short, how do I determine if it's worth giving up a shotgun for?

You must have never owned a Tekno.

What shotgun?

Out of the 4 RCs in my signature, the Yeti is the one I wish I never bought. Bottom of my list for sure.

Alum. motor mount, and mip rear drive shaft are the two things I would look for, imo

I don't have a Yeti, yet, but plan on getting one. I've heard it's not great for crawling, since it has IFS, that it's really meant for more speed than that.

Check out this thread: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial...xial-yeti.html

IMO just upgrade\replace parts as they break or as they make you happy. There's going to be a weak point, upgrading that one will transfer the weak point elsewhere, so on and so on.
