Dave,
I won't be able to go due to work.

Did I give you my setup at Stateline? If not email me and I'll get a good starting setup to you for CRCRC.
I think I have the manual saved on my pc, I'll check and send it to you if I do.

I just figured that since they had plastic yokes that they would break. NO?

Does anybody else notice that the threaded alan shaft that threads into the slipper is very short? I can't get the damn thing to stay inside the slipper, even with the mip (purple) thread lock, or the blue thread lock. When I turn the slipper adjustment nut, the threaded alan shaft turns with the bolt. On my older xx-4 the shaft is about 1/4 inch longer. Any ideas?

I didn't have that problem at all. You may have gotten a wrong part or something.

if you are talking about the front ones then if you run a one-way then I can break them in less than a lap.

I would definately switch to CVD's or maybe even LCD's up the front if you are running a one-way, maybe even if you are not running a one-way.

LCD's were developed for the front of the JRxS. It's kind of a double jointed CVD if you want to think of it that way. Losi will be releasing them for the XX4 and XXX4. I'll probably be getting them for the front end of the car.

I've run them on my xxx-nt since day one on a very rough high traction track. I've never had any sort of problems with them. I could land big doubles hard on the throtle and it never fased them one bit. If set up properly losi transmissions will last a long time.

the only real use for an lcd is if you run a spool. Typicaly a live axle will have two joints in it. The one joint will not provide smooth power, instead it will create lots of vibrations. Typicaly the diff in a car will absorb this, however a spool doesn't and will instead be eaten up in a hurry. will cause the drive to reck havock on the outdrive. The lcd helps to prevent this. If you don't run a spool I would stick with the bones on anything that you can get traction on. If you are having trouble getting traction then switch to the cvds.

That's kind of what I was thinking. CVD's on an onroad car do create a lot of wear on the outdrives when you're running a spool. On the Schumacher, we use "blades" small plastic cushions between the drive pin and the outdrive to take the brunt of the abuse. 2 runs and they're done usually. I was thinking about running a spool in the XX4 (being an outdoors onroad racer and using spools 90% of the time ) but I'm not too sure how it'll react on the dirt. I'd imagine I'd also have to lock down the clicker to get the full effect.

Party Wagon, I was only talking about the front of the xx4, the Losi rear universals are great and I use them in all my cars.

Regarding the spool, I run a one-way pretty much all the time, this has spool action when on power.

also, even with a diff, surely less bind on the drivetrain can't be a bad thing? why make the diff have to compensate for the poor job the CVD's are doing, why not let the LCD's do a better jobs and all your drivetrain compenets will be happier
