Regarding shell, yes you still can get it http://www.losi.com/Products/Feature...rodId=LOSA8045
I spoke too soon, it just hit my hometown at 1:12am this morning.
So the mailman should be delivering it to my door today.

Ever since I read Jimmy's review on oople I just had to try one of these cars.
The car that was out long before the B44, that Gil Losi engineered.
I read on another thread that this chassis set the standard the way we look at 4wd buggies today. But yet it's just a street/rally weapon converted to a 4wd buggy. I thought that was a good bit of information.

I'm quite sure that XX4 buggy was out before Street weapon. I still remember car from time when it won first european championship in France 1996 as prototype. Was really nice event to be at.

OK I need to know the weakest part on the car. Mine has the trinity blue
aluminum bulkhead, so I should be ok in that area. I've taken the car
apart and cleaned everything. Oiled the bearings with team checkpoint bearing treatment then I re-assembled the car. Next I'll be putting the shocks on it and installing the electronics. The belts seem worn a little but they should last until I have time to go buy new belts and pulleys.

I would stick the stock bulkhead on and do a pivot mod . The aluminum bulkheads are known for being chassis breakers .

Not to mention alot of the Trinity units floating around are the garbage ones made after they stopped using Titan Tech to do the machining. Those often fit poorly and are made out of a softer aluminum that get sloppy before fatigue breaks them so not only does the cars handling go bad, then they break the surrounding components as well. I think it was no coincidence that back in the day, guys like Kinwald, Francis and Hodapp never ran that part and just ran the B2/B3 brace mod without much trouble at all.

Where are you guys getting the carbon fiber for the shock towers?
I have some scrap carbon fiber I was planning to put on mine.
Can you still buy the plastic bulkheads?

I'll be driving the car when it warms up, hate to take it outside in the cold and break something.

Maybe by then I'll have some spares. The arms look durable, but still isnt worth the risk.

The Chick and I have been working on that "issue". Work has normalized and the house is nearing completion. I never realized how much work buying a forclosure would be! We are currently working out the budget for Lipos and motor stuff (same brushed motors for the XX4's but brushless for the XXX-CR). The cars are sitting in perfect condition like the day they left SoCal and I still have my monster parts stock so we will be ready to run @ West Coast soon! We are really focused on keeping the wieght the same so I will hit you up for some info in the not too distant future.....

You might find one on ebay oe a local hobby shop might still have one on the shelf . Most NIB on ebay are selling for an overpriced amount . You can find some really niced used ones for a fraction of the price . I bought mine used and still looked new .
