X-6 buggy in 06
Does any one have any info on the radical new 2WD buggy called the X 6.
This buggy is coming out in 06 and it's from the same camp that makes the X 5.
The X - 6 prototypes will debut on Jan 12th as practice begins for the MidWest MidWinter Championship in Columbus, Ohio. That's if all goes well.................................
Thanks,
E

I've heard that the X-Factory had some plans on a 2WD at some point but no details were mentioned as to when it would actually be released. More than once I have heard Chazz below... "2WD is Boring"... since it's obviously just a two car race at almost every track. Hopefully the X-6 is as successful as the X-5 has been! Associated and Losi could use even more fresh competition now that Kyosho has also returned to the electric Off-Road scene!

Some info to share............ Can't wait for the Ohio race
Hi Eric,
We are testing a radical new 2WD buggy, tentatively named the X - 6. Test sessions happen about every other week at a Secret Location with Greg and/or Paul running the new car and making hundreds of adjustments. After each session changes are made to the C.A.D. and new parts are produced for the next test. The design is almost final, and the Boys are turning great lap times, but there are still a few things that must be nailed down before we're willing to commit the huge dollars that building molds and making lots of parts requires.
Shortly after I finish today's E-mail I head to the machine shop to re-design the rear shock tower -- again. We all hope this will be the final change. Paul has a test session scheduled for Jan 2nd with the new tower, and if results are as we expect, the X - 6 prototypes will debut on Jan 12th as practice begins for the MidWest MidWinter Championship in Columbus, Ohio. That's if all goes well...
We don't want to commit to a production date at this time as too much can go wrong. The MidWinter will tell us a lot.
Stay tuned.

Hard to tell much from the picture but can't make out a gearbox behind the shock tower and looks like the driveshafts mount forward of the tower, could it be the gearbox is in front of the rear wheels? Looks interesting anyway have been looking for a new buggy something a little different would be good.

Does anyone know which brand they are using as platform for the prototypes? or are they building from the ground up.
