Default Temp Gun?

I'm in the market for a temp gun. I don't really want to spend $250.00 on an Exergen. Any feedback or recommendations would be appreciated.

250.00? My Exergen cost me 320.00 but that is only because I bought a cheap one first.

I used to work at this company. Dwyer Instruments, they make low cost items, for the most part, for the HVAC industry.

I dont see why this wouldnt work.....

. Sdm you could do this as this is what I did to get buy with the less expensive one I had for awhile. Take the one you buy and find somebody at you local track with an Exergen and compare and note the difference. Then just use yours and add or subtract the difference. In the mean time learn to tune with out a temp gun and tune for performance and just keep an eye on the smoke trail. If there is smoke you are usually good to go. Then backup your tune with the temp gun for future reference.
