Flavor of the month?
I have built and raced b4.2 FT, OG B5M (first batch), B5M FL and, now, a B6D. Over those four AE race builds every version has improved over the previous car whether it be the molds, materials, hardware, whatever. Friends have asked me should they get the B6D. I honestly answer that, if the B6D doesn't improve their lap times, they will none-the-less enjoy the build, appreciate the thought behind the engineering, and will love how much easier the car is to service track side. So, sign me up for the monthly club.
B6.1D - it will come. Prediction - when Team AE starts winning big events with "their" version of the car, we will see the B6D laydown kit the way it should be released. Too many variables have to be worked out in the meantime.
For now, I race with my B6D. And will try to make laydown work on my dirt track

The problem for all of the manufacturers is that they've done such a great job making these cars so much more durable that they aren't selling parts like they use to. That's the bottom line. I also think technology is pushing things forward a little faster. I loved my B4's but they were big piles of crap compared to the B5s and the B6s are looking pretty good.

i'm having an issue with my laydown transmission .. It's hard to explain but with no motor or anything I feel like it doesn't not rotate smoothly .. I thought at first it was how I put the diff in. I'm running a ball diff and currently have the head the opposite way. The instructions call for the head to be in the direction of the spur but looking at the B5M 3 gear instructions .. it calls for the head the opposite way. Is there a reason why you'd do it differently with the laydown?

The head of the thrust bolt should always be on the right side of the car...
