Different shock pistons, sway bars and springs for sure. Ackerman plates are also relatively simple to change and have big effect on steering.

Dang, such a dead thread. Stock setup is awesome. Fast lap is a 26, I was running low 29's... for me, that's WAY better than the 32-35's I was running prior. I have so much to learn in racing and car setup.

This past weekend was PA State Championships at WOCRC, which got rained out, but I was able to run practice on friday. Every other e-buggy was SO loud compared to the broken in diffs of my SRX8e. It was silky smooth. Unbelievable product quality. I had the pin on the front center shaft start to pop out, which i pressed back in and put a dab of glue on it. It held for 30 mins or so until I started packing up. Still holding, but Serpent is sending a replacement since I just built the kit.

Next is a nitro buggy... electric just doesn't do it for me

The silent is what made me pick tekno as my choice. Honestly if the thread is more lively, I would pick the srx8e. The FB group didnt change my mind either.

What info or more lively posts do you need... LOL
I think its quiet because the buggy flat out works and doesn't have many issues, my one set-up works at a lot of tracks and at the most
I'm only changing shock oils based on temperatures during the day.

I did some testing a couple weeks ago at Browns Raceway and Hobbies, went up thicker shock oil, 600 front and 575 rear with 6hole split pistons.
By split pistons meaning I drilled 3 holes out every other hole to be 1.5 for front and rear. I've been running this shock package at a few races, Tiltyard, Magic Hobbies and Browns
and with 2.5 F/R Swaybar and the car has been super planted.
I also was messing around with wing plates and wings on the car, I've been rung the 4-4 wing plates with the PL Trifecta wing and has been great.
2wks ago I tried the 6-2 plates with the PL wing and also with and Xray wing and the car was actually better with the Xray wing for my driving style.

I am bumping the shock oil from 450 to around 600 and throwing purple springs on the front with stock pistons for now. Running at WOCRC in New Florence, PA. Thinking about picking up a lightweight chassis...

The stock wing deformed super quick. I'm going to try the low profile wing from serpent, it works great on my truggy. 2 degrees is what I'm running for plates.

I noticed a lot of front sway, so I picked up 2.5 and 2.7 for F/R, tuning next time I'm at the track!

I've been pretty much running 2.3 & 2.5 swaybars up until my trip to Tiltyard in August where Paul and Austin suggested the 2.5 up front as well.
With running the 2.5 up front it feels smooth on rough bumpy tracks.
I'm running Blue Front springs and Pink rears, I know a lot of drivers and team guys are running Purple F and Red R with the 5hole pistons and dropped down in oil weight.

How tight are the two set screws at the bottom of the front caster block supposed to be on the hinge pin?

I thread lock and tighten them down as tight as I can without stripping the screws.

So is this buggy still worth it? I have the Cobra 811 2.2 Nitro and 811 2.1 ebuggy, but not sure I want to change to the SRX8e as there does not seem to be very popular.

Extremely worth it. Only a year old. Arguably the most tunable buggy on the market with an extraordinary amount of tuning options. Ton of improvements over the Cobra. Most Serpent owners get help through the facebook groups for each of their cars. We don't have many active users on RCTech. You will notice a ton of improvements over the Cobra once you switch, especially the electronics tray/setup!
