I've been trying to get one for a while now but its out of stock.

you can turn the plastic part to go from rear arms and cut it so it doesnt touch the arms.

I don't follow. Which plastic part are you referring to?

Are the suspension arms with the solid inserts the same as the arms that have the traditional holes in the webbing? I don't understand the purpose of the suspension arms with the plate inserts you screw in.

The suspension arms with inserts are to help tune the car for better traction when needed. You can add plastic or carbon inserts to stiffen the arms for certain conditions on track to get more traction or less.
I run only the plastic inserts on the front arms and none for the rear so the rear will have more flex and traction.

What are the most common parts that break on this buggy? I got the RTR version and wanted to casually club race it. I used to race nitro buggies 12-15 years ago and know the front end takes the brunt of the damage.

The RTR has a somewhat thin front shock tower, so I'm thinking about getting the thicker kit version shock tower. The RTR shock cap ball mounts are plastic, so I may upgrade at least the front shock caps to all aluminum. What else is a weak point?

Shock towers, shock caps, suspension blocks (A-B-C-D), outer hinge pins (replace with 811 parts). Dogbones pop out a lot, replace with captured if you can afford it…

buy a used kit for $200 ish and swap the electronics over…

What is a good base diff oil setup? I run on a clay high-bite, smooth track. Gets blue grooved.

5/7/3 ?
7/10/4 ?
Something else?

I know some at 10-12-7 for aggressive driving, I'm at 12-10-5 for smooth driving. Pro diffs.

Yes, that's too thin.
I typically run 550 Front and 500 Rear with pink springs and as the day get warmer or traction gets higher I go thicker weight and usually jump up 50 at a time.
So for example if I start on 550/500 and traction is higher or the day gets warmer I'll move up to 600/550 and even have gone to 650/600 a couple times as well on hot days.
