how do i get more control of the steering on my rc10gt, i switched the steering servo to the 3305 futaba with 4.8v batt pack, when i run the truck, it will bounce ,dart, turn 360's, flip over on it's own, it is just not controlable. radio is a futaba 3 pdf , stock throttle servo. everything else on the truck is stock.please help. getting frustated, i'm about to put it on the self and go back to boats.

Well I can tell you to get a 6 volt rechargeable battery and that will give both your servos better performance. But really you probably just need to let off the throttle while you turn, that puts the weight on the front tires making them get more traction for the turn.

What kind of surface are you running on, bashing, racing?

Hey Jeff. I'm just about done my second gallon and i will say that the gt is a wicked truck. A couple of questions than i'll know about the truck. How tight is the slipper clutch? How are the shocks ?(too springy etc...) what about the front wheels toed in or out? I know that all these things and more affect the handling. What tires are on it? how is the track ?(good traction or lots of wheel spin? Let me know. Dan from lillooet bc. ps How are the brakes set up?

dan the truck is still stock, except for the steering servo. i don't know what the slipper clutch is, and the shocks, well i can push down on the front of truck and it is slow to come up and the same for the back, i have stock springs on the truck and fronts are green and the backs are silver. the tires is the same one that came one the truck and the front is toed-in, if i put a square on the side of the tires it is true. i'm not running on a tract it's in my back yard.

Hey Jeff, don't give up just yet. I think the problem may be with a 'heavy' throttle and not a slipper clutch or terrain issue.
Slipper Clutch adjustment will help later down the road when racing, not when backyard bashing. The slipper clutch should be tight enough so that you are not hearing it squeel when taking off (depending on terrain). I would investigate that more later on once you get the control.

I would try the street first, it helped me years ago. Granted you will eat up your tires but it helps you become familair with the truck. If you are in the yard on dirt or grass, try not to squeeze full throttle when taking off, ease into it and work on any oversteer/understeer just like you would a real car .

It takes practice and knowing when to juice it and when not to. There are TONS of people I race with that make me look like a rookie when it comes to handling my car on a new track!

It's all about having fun. If you let it frustrate you, you might as well be at work, right?

If you are having trouble with the Gt spinning out you might want to try dialing some expo in and reducing the amount of throw in you steering.

6 volt battery pack would also be a plus.

Tyres/foams are 90% of a cars setup. Best to go down to your track and ask what the "track pros" are using.
