Default Battery advice for Orion VTS2 690 1900kv

Just bought a Orion VTS2 690 1900kv motor and dont know what cell battery too use. I'm new to rc. I have a orion R8x pro esc and was running a new lrp dynamic 8 1600kv was was slow on 4s (stock gearing) so i put 6s in it, all was well till the 5th battery then it died.

I dont want to make the same mistake again. The motor says its 6s compatable but the customer service guy said it wont run reliabley on 6s so im a bit lost.

All ready have 1 4s and two 6s batteries. Maybe when i use the 6s i should bring the epa right back on the controller.

I mainly use the buggy at a astro turf track and i want to out acelerate the nitros.

I would appreciate some advice on this as im feeling lost. Thanks

4S is more than sufficient in general for a 1/8 buggy motor in the 1800 - 2200 kv range.
