sooooo whats the consensus on the new T3.1e? This and the ebuggy have been on a tear since release. I used to race AE back before my long hiatus. (RC10GT, NTC3).
Is it really that much better?
Waiting for TLR to release the 8IGHT-T E4.0, which probably aint happening I need a truggy but rather not run 2 manufacturers :-/ Really impressed with AE's new Truggy.

Anyone having issues getting the T3.1 diffs to mesh good? There are about 5 locals all running the T3.1e’s. Each of us have issues with the front diff clicking (couple guys have had same issue on the rear diff). I am now running 3 shims on the gear side (none of other side) and still have the issue. I tried to install a 4th shim but could not get it to fit in the case.

Got mine figured out. It was the rear diff that was clicking. Bearing melted down and was letting the diff float around. Replaced the diff case (melted the edge where the shims seat), ring and pinion and all new bearings! Even was eating into the chassis a bit! Ended up with one shim on the diff case side and 2 on the gear side. Left just a very slight amount of play (almost none) on the gear mesh. Now it sounds good even with power turned up all the way!

props to Tower Hobbies getting this to me in record time, ordered Wednesday and received Saturday morning!!! Worked on it all weekend when not running errands/family time lol. I can barely contain myself. I don't have the truggy tires or electronics but I'm thinking just swapping over the electronics from my eBuggy and slapping on the buggy tires just for S&G's
In regards to the diffs, since they are straight cut (hell of a lot straighter than the Losi's) they are a bit louder mated up against the pinion gear in the diff cases. Is this normal? I tried like the manual pictured with the shims and didn't really notice that much of a difference, just that they were a bit louder than my losi diffs. I currently have both front and rear at 1 on the gear side, 2 on the other.
Thanks!
