What track are you running at? If your at mikes I'll be there Saturday and I can help you setup I'm also running a 4.0
I'd try 37.5 front with 1.2x8 pistions 103.5mm droop, ride hight of 26mm
and 35.0 rear with 1.3x8 pistions 114.0mm droop, ride hight of 27mm
is a good starting point for mikes in porter

Thanks for the offer, but running at Indy up in the Dallas area. Good suggestions on the wt and pistons. Similar track type from what I can see though I've not been down there .

Shock oil, driver technique, and a little drag brake seemed to have helped today. Car ran great and I think I've worked out the assembly induced bugs. Now I can focus on just driving and getting better with it.

Default Best Ebuggy Body to fit a Converted 4.0 nitro buggy

I just got a new 8ight X nitro buggy and will be converting my old 4.0 nitro buggy and I was wondering what body would fit the best on the electric converted 4.0 nitro buggy? I’m really primarily a nitro racer, but I figured I’d convert my old nitro buggy to electric for now because I have at least a few thousand dollars worth of new 4.0 parts I’d like to burn through before I get an XE.

Any body suggestions you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated!

I would go with a J concepts 4.0 s2, 3.0 silencer or the 4.0 bittydesign force.

I’ve run my 4.0 now since December....great buggy. I really like it. Two issues though that keep coming up for me. I’ve had to do a lot of body work on this thing to keep it going. The rear mounting post broke through the body to the aft early on. The front came apart a bit later. Shoe goo, dry wall tape, and some lexan from an donor SCT body have kept working for me. Aside from not crashing, any suggestions on this? Also what is the purpose of that little clear piece that come with the body? It obviously is for the front of the body but I can’t see it’s use.

Second is the motor mount. Red locktite and that sucker still get lose on my after a few runs. I know to check it now before each race, but seems like it should hold a little better.

Thanks.

Over the years we learned to space the rear body mount forward. Just need a longer screw and some washers, a nut, fuel tubing, just something to fill the space. You want the post to the front of the rear body mount hole so when the chassis flexes it has room to move. I also slot the front hole in the body.

Quick response. Thanks. I’ll look around and see what I can cobble together.

body has always been my complaint seems to crack pretty easy shoe goo and drywall tape has also been my fix or whenever I buy a new body but as the motor mount not had a problem maybe a quick suggestion try putting a support under the motor I’ve done that in the past on other rc cars and it has help from the motor coming loose other than this buggy is great thinking about getting the new losi buggy but not cheap lol

Just picked up a new to me 8ight e 4.0! Already put about 20 packs through her playing with the suspension and thinking about trying the EVO springs here soon.

Does anyone run a fan in their 8ight e 4.0. I'm just moving over from 1/10 and we all run fans. I don't want to cook a new motor just in case.

Don't need a motor fan if you're geared correctly
