Best 13.5 wheeler motor

I have a Losi 22–4 and I was thinking about running the 13.5 class we have here locally what is the best motor if I go 13.5? Some had said 24k or r1 wurks, I know some are more expensive than others but I'm looking for performance and power wise to where I might have somewhat of an advantage but still be 13.5 legal

Trinity 24k or D41S, Reedy, Shurspeed, R1 Wurks, Fantom, pick one :D

Geared right, they're all fast enough. I run an old Novak and don't get out-motored by anyone.

While not a 13.5, I have a Orion 17.5 that runs super cool, under 100f geared 35/70 in 2wd. If I were shopping, I'd look at one of these because you run 13.5's pretty hard in a 4wd so a motor that runs cooler would fade much less over the length of a run.

how is the turn out for that class? kind of cool to see a spec 1/10 4wd class. back in the day we tied that with 19T motors and it was fun and close racing. cars were just a bit too fragile for the time.

Where I run it's very popular. Typically 15-25 entries. Tires and drivetrains last, cars are really fast but easy enough to drive that people can race each other without taking each other out too much.

cool. I like how wheeler is easy to drive especially on loose tracks. Helped with new guys not getting so frustrated. with power being down, it also help them control the vehicles in general.

be cool to see some vid action of that type of racing.

heck, 4x4 sct could benefit too from a slower option.

The tekin redline is the most KV per dollar. Where you at? You can slide one in for less than $65 minus shipping fee

Aside from a long straightaway, you'd be hard pressed to see the difference from full modified. They're still really fast.

Team Epic tep1701 is also a good selection. The 17.5 I used before in spec class sct was excellent

Actually, you can, just look on LiveRC for Trackside Hobbies feed, they have a good regular turnout of 13.5 4WD guys, watching them is what inspired me to try one in mine(& I absolutely LOVE driving it that way), I think they have club races either on Friday or Saturday evenings(& you might even be able to look when they're not live, could have some archived video from their last club race, some track feeds do that)....

cool i'll give that a look. Always loved wheelers but they never would get any kind of following.
