do yourself a favor. start running mod truck and stop worrying about trying to get a little less drag out of ur drivetrain. you will get faster

lol the track we race at only has a 60foot straight mod is tought to drive! Besides any body can drive mod takes alot more to run and win in stock !!
Thanks Wheelnut |

mod is definetly not easier to drive then stock. i really dont know what kind of crack u are smoking. learn to drive mod and u will become a lot faster in stock

do what you please. but as a word of advice, about 90% of the drivers are adding lead weight to the back of their associated cars to gain more traction. dont worry about making lighter gears. instead of lighter gears, make sure EVERY SINGLE bearing is rotating freely. that will save you a little time on the track.

yeah, go with the bearings, ut i think getting a decent setup and well tuned stock motor would help you out a lot more. You dont see or hear of any of the pro guys runing cut gears. You actually dont see or hear of many club racers running em either. too expensive and break easier
just my 2 cents tires, setup, motor... |
Running modified teaches you control. Sure, you can strap in a low wind modified and go faster in a straight line, but I'll bet your lap times will be almost the same as (if not higher than) your laptimes when running stock, at least until you get used to the higher speed. It really is challenging to be able to actually use the extra power a mod gives you. The nice thing is that if you run mod, if you have to run stock again, it'll feel sooo much easier to control.
