Default Need some help: Kraton or 8ight-t E 3.0

I sold my converted D8T a couple years ago and have been kicking myself ever since. I've been doing my research and narrowed down to the Arrma Kraton or the Losi 8ight-T E 3.0.

First off, I'm just a basher, no racing. I feel like both of these are very tough trucks even though the Losi is a race truck.

I like the idea of a truggy designed to be electric from the start so that's how I got to these two, plus parts support seems pretty easy for both.

I like the Kraton because it looks like a monster, but is still a truggy. Very aggressive and different.
There doesn't seem to be much in hop ups out there (thinking shock towers, carriers, knuckles, etc) and I don't care of the pillow ball setup on the corners like a Maxx truck

I like the Losi because it's already got aluminum towers and there are upgrades for carriers, knuckles.
I don't like the fact that the esc is held down with servo tape instead of an actual hold down

I know I can make the Losi look more like the Kraton with a body change and some aggressive monster tires.

Can any owners out there tell me more about these trucks then I'm finding in short review articles?

Thanks!

The losi truggy is awesome, super tough, handles great and tons of support.

It is for sure, but would I be missing anything if I went with a Kraton? Is the Losi that much better?

Well from what I understand I'm pretty sure the Kraton and the Durango truggy is the same, I'm pretty sure of the Durango parts fit the Kraton. Therefore it's up grade would most likely come from that.

Funny, I hadn't thought about Team Durango and I just checked out the DEX8T and I really like that. I might be going between that and the Losi and dump the Kraton idea

Much luck? In what regard? They have fantastic customer support and are tough as nails. Local parts availability would be the only issue I could ever imagine with Tekno.

I have had the losi 8ight-t 2.0 conversation now for going on 3 years. It's been the toughest truck I have ever owned and I have owned a bunch of different ones over the years. I just ordered the 3.0 E a few minutes ago. Can't wait for it to come in.

Do any of these (DEX8T, 8ight-T E, Tekno ET48) have actual ESC hold downs or do they all use servo tape to hold it down?

I would choose the Losi over the Kraton, it's just made better. However the Kraton is one of the best RTR's on the market.

I own a ET48 and it's an absolute tank, I wouldn't trade it for anything. An ESC hold down isn't necessary, just use a high quality 3M VHB tape.

I was reading the ET48 thread and it looks like people had issues with breaking shock towers. Is this still a problem on 3.0 version?
