Default New 1/8 Buggy Build

Hey Guys,

Very impressed with everyone on these forums, super knowledgeable and helpful.

I am pulling together a 1/8 scale buggy and need some last tips. Already did quite a bit of research on the main components, here's what I have in the mail:

Lightly used Mugen MBX7 kit with wheels
Lightly used Hobbywing 120a ESC
Lightly used Tekin T8 Gen 2 2050kv Motor

What I still need:
Receiver
Servo
Controller
LiPo Battery
Other?

Let me know what you'd recommend for the missing components. I'm doing this as cheap as I can for a solid build, so looking at best price / performance ratio. Thanks!

I think that's the best of hobbyking stuff. some of their other stuff are not good...
hobbyking might be slow to deliver sometimes, but the prices and quality is Worth the wait

So, is it an mbx7t or mbx7r? Big difference!

Rx/Tx - xp2g isn't bad for an rtr radio imho. You can find new tx/rx combos on ebay for like 40 bucks. Used one with my rc8.2e for a while and it was always reliable.

Servo- Turnigy ts-910, Turnigy 1258tg, or Solar d771 are all pretty solid, cheap servos

LiPo Battery - SMC 5000mah 4s... 6500mah if you want a lot of runtime

Other?

Sorry, had a typo, it is not the "T"

The xp2g looks reasonable, liking the sharkfin look. The futaba is way nicer obviously but out of my price range.

Still debating on servos, I'll hunt around on the for sale section and see what I can find.

Once the build is done I will upload some pics, can't wait ..

Is this for racing or bashing? That can make a difference as some stuff wont live under certain conditions. Cheap is good, but make sure its quality. Better to spend once than spend twice

Yep going for best bang for the buck. I was going to pick up a RTR, but this setup is way better than any of the RTRs for a little extra.
