Default Custom Short Course Conversions Thread

For those of us who like to innovate and or just try something different here's a thread for you

here's a pic of my Rusty/Slash(rustler chassis slash front and rear end/steering servo)

waiting to get out to the track and test her with the new bl motor but the truck handles much better than a regular slash

photos of my next project coming soon after I have more progress

Here are some pics of my SCT conversion for the academy Gv2-t truck. It was built to be 100% ROAR legal so it meets all parameters as far as wheelbase, track width ,overall length, Etc. I also make mid motor conversions for the academy 2wd buggy, and the stadium truck.Enjoy

Finally got out to do some testing on this chassis this weekend. The results were great.I knew the coner speeds would be improved, but this truck really blew me away! Went into a trophy race with a never before track tested truck and set TQ for the day with a lap over the feild.Ended up finishing the main in 4th after swapping position furiously while trying to work back traffic.Didnt hardly have to tune anything in on the truck. Just drive it. Very happy with the first outing results with this truck! We let a couple other guys drive the truck, all feedback was very positive.Even on lookers said the truck looked way more planted than anything else out there!

WOW!

That is a lot of weight on the rear end but looks really clean. Very nice job. If I had ever seen an Academy part for sale in any shop I may consider something like that. Til then its just Traxxas and AE.

Thanks ,glad you guys dig it.
The sc is underweight with the 4000 lipo in it, so the weight distibution leaves it up to the driver where to add weight. So it's really a nice tuning option. With that battery and the body the truck requires just under 2oz to make legal weight.Thats alot of tuning adjustment for weight bias. The truck fully dressed(body on,RTR) without weight added carries it's weight at 63% rear and 37% front.Ideal for 2wd is in the 60/40 to 65/35 range.

Dont fret, after the release of the academy kits we are working on a kit for losi, and a kit for Kyosho. We are trying to stay away from AE stuff since that is X-factory territory.

JK
How does the width compare to the "stock" sct's and your lxt conversion? This thought has crossed my mind several times as i am still racing my LXT in open truck and would like to have a sct the shares parts since a have a pretty good supply.
Thanks

I patterned it to mirror the slash.

Other than body mounts and a limo chassis...I modded stock slash carriers to fit up front for the wheel mounting duties...
