Help I Keep Breaking Front Arms

With the K2 Schumacher sarted using an adjustable hub design that required
a relief cut in the arms for the steering knuckle to clear. The easiest solution
until a revised arm is to run the old style arms without the relief cut. Run the
hubs in the High position and set your steering end points down so the steering knuckles don't hit.

SCHU3597
SCHU3407 MED Flex

There is a newer batch of the SCHU3407 wishbones which correct the weakness in the previous front arms.

Suggested upgrades/spares
Strongly suggest to buy 10° alloy front alloy pivot blocks-U3556 the A & B front plastic pivot blocks-U4798 will break soon.

Have some shock seats spares, alloy v1-U3611, plastic-U3937, alloy v2 (off-road)-U4890

Have some spare shock shafts available U3668 & U3669
MIP pucks an Excellent option!

Misc

Other wheels that fit apart from the Schumacher wheels
Losi 22-4 wheels will fit on the front the rears will work as well!
AE b4, b5 & b6 will fit on the rear
Be sure to lock tight the track screws and rear strap this is a must!!!

AE (12mm) and KYO fronts will work with .5mm spacer - available through AVID

Don't buy the purple titanium turnbuckles as an upgrade there thread is too small and they wander too much. Lunsford Super-duty titanium turnbuckles fit very well they are 3.5mm threads. Get the 1 3/4", 2 1/8" & 57mm lengths. I did not replace the Centre Track Rod.

** When running the Super Duty turnbuckles with the stock captured ball ends, be sure to check for binding in the front steering and camber links after each run - tumbles and glances off the pipes cause them to flex and slightly twist and can bind up the front suspension ... The fix? - simply take a turnbuckle wrench and twist the link back and then forward to it's original positon .. consider doing this as a maintenance step after each run ..

Suggested Gearing

5.5 - indoor high bite clay 83/20 (+/- 1 tooth for layout and conditions etc)
6.5
7.5
8.5
9.5
10.5
13.5 At SRS Arizona I ran 75/28 buggy was quick! RCM lockout worked great!
17.5 - FDR between 5-6 depending on track. E.g. 35/66 down to 30/69 slipper eliminator in use. Different options within the thread. I use B5M exotek eliminator and file it to fit.

Ok, I used the corners from my durango desc410v2...arms,hubs,drive shafts and wheel he's a...I also got lunsford punished turnbuckles 2 7/8 length...I have a k2 rear shock tower on the front and losi shocks all the way around with the losi shock stand offs..on the rear I used 1/2 aluminum spacers to raise the rear end due to the longer losi shocks...front shocks have a 1/4 inch spacer inside each shock as they were too long...the slick short course tires are only for mock up...durango 14mm hexes and 14mm stadium rims will be here tomorrow...got to figure out a body still

Thank you for posting the helpful pictures and description.

How well do the Durango driveshafts fit into the Schumacher diff outputs? Is there greater play between these driveshafts and the diff outputs?

Do you know the diameter of the cross pin at the diff output (e.g. is it 2.5mm like the Schumacher driveshaft or is it thinner (e.g. 2.0mm)?

Also, what is the diameter of the ball end of the driveshaft that the cross pin fits through? Is it closer to 6mm or 7mm?

Beyond driveshafts, did you need to modify the front and rear arms (e.g. increase hinge pin opening and remove material from the arms to fit)?

What's the wheelbase? Seems like it would be a little bit short for ST?

don't know the diameter
Also, what is the diameter of the ball end of the driveshaft that the cross pin fits through? Is it closer to 6mm or 7mm?never measured the ball

Beyond driveshafts, did you need to modify the front and rear arms (e.g. increase hinge pin opening and remove material from the arms to fit)?didn't have to remove any material from the front arms..just added three plastic washers on each side..the rears i had to grind material away...schumacher's pins are larger...need to get a drill bit 3.26 is the actual diameter
the k2 is pretty long...it's not too short as a truck...it's longer than my xxx4 truck

How is the car on a low grip track out of the box? The track is bumpy, gets loamy and is generally a very low grip surface. Tires are usually hole shots and fuzzies on the back.

It needs more flex to work. Schumacher sells a thinner top deck and main chassis. These two parts completely changed my car. It became more durable and had tons more grip.

As above, my car was from a team driver so has the thinner chassis and top deck parts. You can also leave off the alloy side chassis stiffeners too. I have run my car on a bumpy damp or wet astro track and it feels nice to drive with a mod motor.

As much as I truly enjoy this car, I love building new cars. Anyone know anything about an update or new platform?

Hi guys.

I had a b5/b6 exotek eliminator I’d hand filed down, I used it for over a year. On Sunday week ago. I noticed it was not straight and making my spur gear wobble ever so slightly. So my idea was to get a carbon fibre washer to help straighten it up. In measuring up the shaft I came up with a rudimentary idea for a slipper eliminator. I sent it off to bezerk rc. By the end of the week I had a beautiful new slipper eliminator to test. The test was brilliant the car had never be so smooth on power delivery, and not a mark on either gear. Using a polypropylene plastic pinion and Kimborough spur. I qualified 2nd on a dusty grooving up track and ended up taking the win in 3rd final overall. We run 17.5t in Australia for stock classes, but this will be no problem with 13.5t. I think it’s great.

Anyways it weighs a total of 1.5 grams, maybe if there is interest he might do a run of them so I’ll let you guys know. It’s 2 pieces carbon fibre flange and a alloy tube. He also gave me the idea to buy another layshaft cut it down and I’ll tap a m3 thread into it. Basically just the carbon fibre flange with no extra shaft. I’ve ordered it and will post once I get it going. But for now this is a great solution making sure you can also put back on your slipper.

Bezerk RC
