Default Help choosing a HSP brontosaurus off ebay

Hey guys,

I'm looking at buying a 1/10 HSP brontosaurus, I've looked at a few threads; but they seem pretty old.

Also, I've watched a heap of youtube videos, and they make it out as though this is a really good car....

anyway here is my question and hopefully you guys can help,

Im looking at 2 different set ups:

First:

$259

- 3s 11.1v 3600 Lipo Battery
- Aluminum centre transmission shaft
- 4 WD alloy shaft drive
- Brushless Hobbywing 100A ESC with fan
- 2740kv brushless motor
- Oil filled Aluminum shocks
- Full ball bearings
- Hi Torque servo
- gear ratio: 11:1

Second:

$229

- 2s 7.4 3600 Lipo battery
- Aluminum centre transmission shaft
- 4 WD alloy shaft drive
- Full ball bearings
- Hi Torque servo
- Hobbywing Brushless 60A ESC with Electric Fan
- Brushless 3300kv motor
- Oil filled Aluminum shocks
- gear ratio: 11:1

Both of them seem appealing to me, but have no idea about the configurations.

does this first one seem like too much for the car .. and which brushless motor would be more efficient considering the way they are set up?

Looking for something cheap and quick, pretty much only going to use this in my backyard and on concrete roads.

I would really appreciate any help, cheers in advance !

Michael

Not to dissuade you too much but how's parts support for this in your area? Looking around it seems a little thin.

That said (if you are dead set on this car) I'd get the 2s version. Going higher voltage (more torque and speed with the 3s) will likely result in more broken parts.

Cheers for the quick reply mate,

do you have any idea how fast the 2s truck would actually go with the 3300KV brushless motor ?

also I had a looks and this is what I can get for the car in relation to parts:

3300KV brushless motor + 60A ESC = $52.00
2 shocks = $6.00
Aluminum Rear Shock Tower = $8.00
Aluminum Front Shock Tower = $5.00
dogbone front/rear = $3.00
Axle = $3.00

there's heaps more parts available, that's just a general idea

I've been reading more threads, apparently these HSP cars are shit ...
but if im only playing around with it in the backyard and nothing to extreme, do you reckon it will hold up ?

thanks again !
