I know I'm gonna get hammered for that but oh well

Anyway, back to the Mug...AE8.3e

It's all good. That's actually pretty funny! I did just get into 1/8 not too long ago and have lots to learn about them. I bought the other "Mugen copy", the DEX8.

First impression when I saw this CAR!!! MUGEN!!!

I don't know how I feel about both car having a resemblance.

Car looks nice.... curious to see how the electric RC8B3E runs... Youtube as a lot of the nitro.

You guys are beating a dead horse with the mugen crap, we know it has pillowballs, so does the xray, we know it has carbon fiber, so does the xray, we know it has the same layout as the mugen so does the xray, and kyosho, and losi (kinda). xray did the same thing, having very broad similarities doesn't make one car a copy. We don't need more people saying it's a mugen, it's already been said 84728194757382018472954739274574839203947563829103 75829210 times

Most 1/1 cars have mcpherson struts with rack & pinion steering. it doesn't mean they handle the same or they are copying each other it's just a design that makes sense

I do have a feeling this will be a legendary buggy, and if a ft is released with kashima and all hopups it will be insane

Recent history shows that AE has moved away from the business model of offering different "trim" levels of vehicles...aka RTR>Team>Factory Team

I don't see them having a "FT" version of this car..ever

If anything you'll see a downgraded version of this car offered as a RTR at some point.

I'm sorry but you are wrong about the change in AE's trim level history. Since the Factory Team brand was started in the late 90's, the first release of a new platform was a Team car. Then, about a year later a well optioned Factory Team car came out. This is exactly how they handled the B5m to now B5m FL. The RC8 however, if I recall correctly, came out as a Factory Team car. There were still optional parts available but the most useful items were in the box. Things are changing because the base model Team cars are coming with higher quality parts today, not because AE is being cheap.

The similarities between this, the new Durango (Arrma?) and the Mugen go much farther than check-marks on an attributes list.

If it's equal in quality at a lower price, great. If not, will it be enough that it simply says "AE" and runs well?

the most likely thing I would see is when they release the kashimas, they would just up the price about 10$ and include them in the kit. Because the difference between a full set of b5 shock bodies and the kashima ones in only like 15$.
