Default Need help on selecting tires for sc

Hi all,

Maybe I have a weird question, but please bear with me.

Can anyone recommend some not so grippy sc tires or even some 1.9 scaler tires that they have used? I need tires that DOES NOT GRIP that much.

I am modifying a 22 sct into a prerunner that has a 50/50 weight distribution, corrected front kickup and aligned roll center. With some gyro assistance, it handles just like the real deal with some beautiful drifting maneuvers offroad.

But I am trying to find some tires that are really durable and not so grippy so I can bash it on concrete or asphalt. The soft tires I have tried basically only gives me traction rolls.

I tried search so many times and I only find some manufacturers that talks about their tires are both grippy and durable, ( which I don't believe). Basically searching "low grip sc tires" or similar key words, I was not able to find any low grip tires.

So far I've seen people say slash stock tires were not so grippy and can slide on road, also the Blitz stock tires. But I'd like to hear your input.

Many thanks.

I'd go the stock Slash tyres. They were great fun to drive around on any surface back when I had a Slash.

Those or the AE stock tires... You can drift on a carpet track with those things... Also some of the older Onfa Hyper SC RTR tires as well.

both excellent suggestions (stock SC10 tires and slash tires), but with the slash, just know that i think they sell two different compounds with one being softer.

I use duratrax treaded evader tires on rustler front offset wheels all around. They slip and slide alot on the street, are cheap and durable. With the shorter wider stance I don't get any traction rolls.

Have you stiffened up your suspension with springs, oil, sway bars and roll centers?

thank you all for the reply. Yes I have tried stiffen up the suspension springs and it does help a bit but does not eliminate traction roll.

I will try some of the suggested tires. Really appreciate your help
