Welcome to the EB48.3 Wiki

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

Springs:
Low Grip Track:
TKR8772 – Yellow Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8762 – Grey Low Frequency Front Springs

Low to Medium Grip Track:
TKR8773 – Orange Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8763 – Black Low Frequency Front Springs

Medium to High Grip Track:
TKR8774 - Red Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8764 - Pink Low Frequency Front Springs

TKR5199B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, EB/NB/ET/NT48/48.3) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Able to be on power earlier on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6017T (front)
-TKR6061T (rear)

This car is very durable. Here are the spare parts that I recommend you keep on hand:
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR6061T – Rear Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating and TKR6017T – Front Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating
TKR5286 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5184 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5194 – Spindle Carriers
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Page 3 Step K-3
Put the screw in upside down so that the head of the screw is in the hex spot that's molded into the spindle. This will aid in clearance in full droop / full steering.

Page 12 Step I-2
Use no less than 4 shims on the steering spindle to limit steering throw. I actually just use one 2mm ball stud washer from my 10th scale stuff since each shim is .5mm.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here.

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Hey guys,
Quick question, I just finished my .3 build. Is it normal for the front springs to be completely free moving on the shocks at full droop ??

Same !!! Is that normal for the .3 ?? I've had 5 EP8s previously and own the complete Tekno range, never seen springs sliding free on full droop before.

It's been the same on my 3 x .3 buggy builds thus far. I was surprised when I oped the box and it still came with buggy springs on truggy shocks, but seems to work well

There are other ways to get off power steering, but this will do it as well. However, I think you'll lose some of the 'driveability' of the car with the 10 degree setup. Try it out and if it suits you, stick with it. If not, let us know and there are plenty of other things you could change to get the desired effect.

Thanks, I'm going to give this a try. I've tried changing everything I could think of front and rear (1 change at a time) but I seem to lack entry and mid corner off power steering.By the way is this Matt?

What all are you all doing to get more off power steering?

Thanks.

Took some video of the EB48.3 today at the track, we have a super loose surface and pretty bumpy/rutted. The EB48.3 laps start a couple minutes in, first part of the video is SCT410.3 and the A-block breaking. Let me know if you have any ideas for reducing over-steer when powering out of corners on a very loose surface... and yes, I do believe the best improvement I can make is to ease into the throttle a bit nicer, but any other thoughts would be appreciated.

+ YouTube Video

I went one spring softer in the back. It makes the rear a little more planted if it's breaking loose on you based on driving style.

Looks like too much motor a 1700 or 1900 is all that is needed regardless of track size or obstacles. If the car was a bit slower you could hold the corners a lot tighter and the lap times would certainly improve. Slower is faster as clichι as it sounds.
The car looks great and looks like it is doing everything it is supposed to do and you are driving well, just a bit aggressive.

Do they ever blow off and wet the track surface?

In no particular order:
Lighter front spring
Stiffer rear spring
Lower front ride height
Higher rear ride height
Lighter front sway bar
Stiffer rear sway bar
More rear droop
More toe out in front
More toe in in rear
Raise front camber link (lower front roll center)
Lower rear camber link (higher rear roll center)
Adjust bump steer to bump out
Lighter front diff fluid
More kickup in front
More anti-squat in rear

Do any of these opposite and you will gain rear stability.
