Stripping Spur gears with a Slipper
I have an HPI Nitro MT Racer, with a slipper, and it keeps striping the spur gear, not the teeth, where the spur gear mates with the hub, the two little nipples keep shearing off, I have done 3 spur gears like that, I have losened my slipper to 1 turn now and will try that, I also put some pipe dope on the nipples, any suggest would be appreciated.

Sounds like you're on the right track with the slipper clutch adjustment. You might also want to look at the engagement to make sure you're getting a good fit.... getting the nipples all the way in and being sure there isn't too much play or slop when the nipples are installed.

The slipper clutch thing.. HPI's design on that slipper clutch is horible. you have to run the slipper really really loose unless you are good and confident at moding the slipper and spur gear...
I broke a dozen spur gears just as you did becuase running a super loose slipper was no fun. Then I finally got sick of it and dremeled the nipples off, drilled holes in the spur gear where the nipples used to be, then then drilled and tapped holes into the aluminum slipper itself. I attached the spur gear with short screws. Its not the easiest mod to do and sorry but I don't have pics of mine or own my NMT anymore but that was my solution to that problem. I could then run the slipper the way I liked it with only a little slip so it launched with a good and solid takeoff and could spin its tires all over the place on loose surfaces. I ended up getting rid of it because it was constantly breaking and I never even took it off road! every bit of running was on pavement and teh ocasional trip across the lawn.
