basically IP screwed promatch. jeff at promatch had an order placed with IP and they cancelled his order with no warning. my theory is that IP signed an exclusive contract with amain (protek).

They did the same thing to SMC a few months back, too.

The batteries I am waiting for SMC to deliver (3500mah/4s) are $39. Protek's 3250/4s are "on sale" for $89. Other higher volume batteries are maybe a little more favorable but you're still talking about a battery brand that has one less margin markup than most of the competition (ie. A-main gets these directly from a supplier, not from a distributor like AE, Horizon, etc.). Good business model for A-main but I wish they'd pass a little bit more savings onto their customers.

If SMC can't deliver the packs, I'll likely sell the car and run something else (or noting this summer). I am unwilling to pay $90+ for these batteries in this day and age.

The SMC 3600-60c-4s that you want shouldn't be far away, they are a great pack and in the 2s case they are light.

did you mean protek?

I know in the past people blamed promatch for smc not getting the lipos they had, talking with Jeff from promatch sounded like he had no idea about that and them losing the IPs makes me think their is truth to that.

was a fan of the IPs for there performance, but with them gone will have to see what else is out there. Going to give the VANTs a try ...

In the UK I think they're sold as Intellect lipos. There's plenty of those about.
