Default Fort Dodge, Iowa RC Raceway

The Fort Dodge,Iowa RC track will be up and running Wed, Oct 5th. And racing every Wed then on. Racing starting at 7.00. The doors should be open around 5.00. Amb timing system. Personal transponders welcome.
The classes running this year will be:
MOD TRUCK
MOD BUGGY
STOCK TRUCK
STOCK BUGGY
MOD 4WD BUGGY
AND ANY OTHER CLASS OF ELECTRIC IF WE GET 3 OR MORE.
There will be NO gas vehicles this year.
The track is once again going to be awsome. A layout for the novice and the experianced. Come to the premiere indoor track in Iowa. It will be a good time. There is enough pit space and plug ins for everyone. There is also car parts and food on hand.
For more info contact Curt Bacon or Tom Paul at this number in the days 515-576-0202.

sweet.

I'd venture a guess that the turnout next wednesday will be a little light because the regionals in Chilicothe are that weekend, but I'm not going to the regionals, so I'll be there. Looking forward to seeing the new layout.

I'll be bringing my digital camera so that I can get some better shots than my phone cam can take, so let me know if they need some shots for the website. I'm no pro with the cam, but they might be good enough to use on the site.

Suppose we can set up a Iowa Racers forum on here so we know where any changes in schedules etc.. will be. Just an idea. plus any other tracks that may pop up that people know about.

It was good. Small crowd, but that was to be expected. It felt like an organized practice night more than anything. 4 mod buggies, 2 stock, 2 mod trucks and 2 4wd.

I enjoyed driving the track. It's not big on jumps, but it is technical and tight with a fast outer section. It'll require good skills with the brakes, as there is a tight 180 at the end of the back straight.

I took a few shots, and if they are any good I'll post them up here later tonight. Hopefully I won't be so rushed and I'll get some shots next week as well.

Curt said they'd be racing at least one sunday this month. He said he'd have a flyer with the schedule posted up next wednesday

There will be another indoor track up this winter at Extreme R/C in Evansdale, Iowa. We are currently in the process of building the indoor track in our 170'x60' building. We will be running ALL classes - races are still going on twice a week sunday and wednesday on our outdoor track. www.extremerconline.com

I dont think the Fort Dodge guys are planning on running nitro on their indoor.

Once the indoor track in Evansdale is complete (tentative date Nov. 1) we will be running nitro and electric inside.
